摘要: A failure diagnostic system reduces the internal pressure of a fuel tank to a predetermined negative pressure, seals off the fuel tank from the air, and then determines whether an evaporated fuel processing system has failed or not by monitoring an increase in pressure in the fuel tank. In determination, the failure diagnostic system compares a detected pressure in the fuel tank with a reference value that is increased by a predetermined rate. The failure diagnostic system stops update of the detected pressure if the detected pressure becomes higher than the reference value, and resumes update of the detected pressure if the detected pressure becomes lower than the reference value. It is therefore possible to accurately determine whether the evaporated fuel processing system has failed or not even if the pressure in the fuel tank is rapidly increased.

摘要: An information storage controller comprises two memory groups. One memory group is used for external communication, while the other memory group communicates with a plurality of magnetic disks, so that work in each memory group is performed in parallel. Information is transmitted between the external equipment and the magnetic disk by a switch means. Further, the information storage controller comprises a redundant information generation circuit for reading information from a plurality of memories with an exclusive circuit which simultaneously generates redundant information and verifies and recovers data. Thus, a high speed information storage controller connected to a plurality of magnetic disks can be provided.

摘要: A dispensing apparatus for thin flat articles, such as monetary currency bills, includes a plenum chamber having an aperture of a size smaller than the articles to be dispensed. A suction device is connected to the plenum chamber to provide sufficient negative pressure to adhere an article to the aperture. A contact member, such as an endless belt, is mounted for movement across the aperture to drive the article adhering to the aperture for release from the stack of articles. The stack of articles can be stored in a storage tray and biased towards the plenum chamber aperture. A series of spacer members can relieve part of the bias pressure. The released articles can be counted and stored in a storage chamber until a predetermined number of articles are accumulated. Subsequently, the passageway from the storage chamber to a dispenser tray can be opened and the articles ejected to the user.

摘要: In a swash plate type compressor, a swash plate (22) is fixed to a boss (21) by means of rivets (35). The swash plate is coupled to a plurality of pistons (24) via shoes (25). When a main shaft (16) is rotated to rotate a rotor (18), a rotational motion of the rotor is transmitted to the boss via a hinge mechanism (19) which changes an inclination of the swash plate. Accordingly, the boss is rotated to rotate the swash plate at the inclination to cause the pistons to make reciprocating motions in cylinders (26) via the shoes for performing a compressing operation.

摘要: The process for preparing ceramic powder having a core-shell structure by dissolving a crystalline ceramic powder in water so as to leave a core portion of the ceramic powder while heating; depositing a component of the ceramic powder dissolved in the water on and around surfaces of the core portion thereof as a deposited material from the water by gradually cooling the ceramic powder and the water obtained in the step of dissolving; and firing a mixture of the ceramic powder obtained in the step of depositing with an additive at a high temperature to subject the deposited material and the additive to solid phase reaction to form a shell portion on and around the core portion of the ceramic powder. The process can produce the ceramic powder having a core-shell structure from a crystalline ceramic powder, thereby achieving high electrical and mechanical features when formed into ceramic electronic parts. On the other hand, conventional ceramic electronic parts produced from highly crystalline ceramic powder raise the manufacturing cost because such ceramic powder is low in reactivity so that it requires high firing temperature. Ceramic powder in a core-shell structure produced from low-crystalline ceramic powder results to conventional ceramic electronic parts which are poor in electrical and mechanical characteristics.

摘要: A white balance control device is provided for use in a video camera or a still video camera in which white balance control signals are controlled so that an object may be photographed without the occurrence of color failure. A user selects the light source to be employed. A microcomputer of the white balance control device detects a difference between integral averaged values for two color difference signals R-Y and B-Y and a reference value. The integral averaged values are to be equalized until this difference is within a predetermined value. The integral averaged values are also to be maintained within a variable region in accordance with the selected light source. Use of the variable region insures that deterioration of the reproduced color does not occur even when there is a difference between a selected light source and an actual color temperature.
