摘要： A removable hard disk drive is detachable from a computer apparatus, and includes a storage medium for storing data from the computer apparatus and a communication interface with the computer apparatus. Upon reception of eject instruction issued by the computer apparatus, the removable hard disk drive writes contents cashed in a cache memory into a disk, and shifts to an ejectable state. Upon the completion of the shift to the ejectable state, the removable hard disk drive externally outputs an eject signal. A microprocessor which controls an eject mechanism executes removable hard disk cartridge eject operation in response to the eject signal.

摘要： There is provided a portable storage device which makes it possible to largely reduce time that is taken to remove the storage cartridge that is inserted and cannot be handled. A removable hard disk cartridge contains a hard disk and a control circuit for control of writing and reading of data in and from the hard disk in a casing thereof. A main unit includes an automatic loading/ejecting mechanism that receives the hard disk cartridge into a predetermined inner position within the main unit and ejects the same out from the position, and a microprocessor that controls storage operation for storing data in the hard disk cartridge. Before the automatic loading/ejecting mechanism performs a receiving operation, it is determined whether access to contents recorded on the hard disk can be gained, and when the access cannot be gained, the receiving operation by the automatic loading/ejecting mechanism is inhibited.

摘要： An information processing system which is capable of promptly authenticating a combination of a disk array device accommodating a plurality of disk devices, and an information processing apparatus in which the disk array device is mounted. A first control section of a cartridge device as a disk array device stores ID information for use in authentication by an information processing apparatus, and a second control section of the information processing apparatus acquires the ID information from the first control section. The second control section authenticates the cartridge device by using the acquired ID information. A third control section of the information processing apparatus reads out information from hard disk devices contained in the cartridge device when the authentication by the second control section is successful.

The relative positions of the sensors and the magnet are variable. The sensor unit detects the selected shift position according to the relative positions. According to movement of the shift lever, at least one of the group of the sensors and the magnet is moved along a first movement axis and a second movement axis. The first and second movement axes extend in different directions.

The electric steering lock device of the present invention has a lock bar that moves according to the movement of a lift member. In a state where female threads provided on the lift member are threadably engaged with male threads provided on a rotary shaft, the lift member moves along the axis of the rotary shaft according to the rotation of the rotary shaft, which is driven by an electric motor. The female threads of the lift member can be disengaged from the male threads according to the rotation of the rotary shaft. When the female threads are disengaged from the male threads, rotation of the rotary shaft is permitted.
