摘要: A plurality of color signals indicative of a plurality of color patterns are processed based on a first distribution curve to distribute the original color signals into color signals for normal ink and color signals for light ink. Then, the plurality of color patterns are printed by the color signals for normal ink and color signals for light ink. Then, the density of each color pattern is detected to produce a density curve. A second distribution curve is produced based on the detected density, the original color signals, and the first distribution curve so that the second distribution curve can attain a properly linearly-changing density curve. By preparing beforehand a plurality of first distribution curves dependently on a variety of usage conditions of the printer, it is possible to use a second distribution curve that is in conformity to the usage condition, under which the printer is desired to be driven, by selecting a distribution curve that corresponds to the usage condition.

摘要: A printing unit prints an image based on print data. The printing unit has characteristics. An input-color-data storing portion stores input color data indicative of colors of inputted image data. The input color data have color component values of a first color group. A print-data generating portion converts the color component values of the first color group stored in the input-color-data storing portion into color component values of a second color group, thereby generating pre-correction print data having a predetermined bit width. A correcting portion converts the pre-correction print data into post-correction print data that is adapted to the characteristics of the printing unit. The correcting portion includes a bit-width correcting portion that generates the post-correction print data having a bit width greater than the predetermined bit width The bit-width correcting portion selectively increases the bit width based on predetermined criteria.

摘要: A semiconductor device has a fin-type transistor formed in a projecting semiconductor region. The projecting semiconductor region is formed on a major surface of a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type. A gate electrode of the fin-type transistor is formed on at least opposed side surfaces of the projecting semiconductor region, with a gate insulating film interposed. Source and drain regions are formed in the projecting semiconductor region such that the source and drain regions sandwich the gate electrode. A channel region of the first conductivity type is formed in the projecting semiconductor region between the source and drain regions. The following relationship is established: TFIN≧(∈/4qNCH)1/2 where TFIN is a width of the projecting semiconductor region, NCH is an impurity concentration in the channel region, ∈ is a dielectric constant of a semiconductor material of the projecting semiconductor region, and q is an elementary charge.

摘要: An inkjet recording device records images by forming dots on a recording medium with droplet modulating method. The inkjet recording device includes a recording unit, a multilevel-data creating portion, and a dot-layout-data creating portion. The recording unit ejects ink droplets for forming dots at corresponding pixel positions. The recording unit is capable of changing a volume of each ink droplet to form dots with different sizes. The multilevel-data creating portion creates multilevel data based on image data. The multilevel data includes a dot size for each dot. The dot-layout-data creating portion creating dot layout data based on the multilevel data, so as to prevent the recording unit from forming dots having the same size continuously by greater than or equal to a predetermined number. The recording unit performs recording operation based on the dot layout data.

摘要: To provide a chain stop device for an electromotive chain saw that can quickly stop the rotation of a cutting chain when a trigger member is released. The electromotive chain saw is provided with a chain stop mechanism operated with a solenoid. When the trigger lever is released, the solenoid is energized, such that a brake force is applied by a chain stop mechanism. The chain stop mechanism is composed of a brake shoe for engaging with or disengaging from the inner periphery of a brake drum, a Y-shaped resilient member for supporting the brake shoe, a swingable lever for slidably guiding the resilient member, and a clutch disconnected when depressed by two arms of the resilient member.

摘要: The plasma etching apparatus for a semiconductor wafer includes a susceptor provided in the vacuum process chamber. An electrostatic chuck for attracting and holding the wafer is provided on the susceptor. The electrostatic chuck comprises a chuck electrode provided on the susceptor via an insulative layer. The chuck electrode is connected to the positive terminal of the DC power supply via a switch. The chuck electrode is coated with a resistive layer, and the wafer is placed directly on the resistive layer. The resistive layer exhibits an electric resistivity of 1.times.10.sup.10 .OMEGA..multidot.cm to 1.times.10.sup.12 .OMEGA..multidot.cm in a temperature range for etching. The resistive layer is formed to have such a surface roughness that a center line average hight falls within a range of 0.1 to 1.5 .mu.m. When the potential of the positive terminal of the DC power supply is applied to the chuck electrode, and the wafer is grounded via plasma, a contact potential difference is created between the surface of the resistive layer and the rear surface of the wafer, generating an electrostatic attractive force, so that the wafer is attracted and held by the resistive layer.

摘要: An optical disk apparatus for a double-sided optical disk has an optical pickup unit for reproducing information from the optical disk, and base members carrying driving unit for shifting the pickup unit and a guide mechanism for guiding the movement of the pickup unit. The drive of the pickup unit is conducted through a timing belt, and different reduction systems are used for reproducing operation of the optical pickup unit and for the shifting of the optical pickup unit from one to the other sides of the disk, by the operation of a switching mechanism for effecting switching between these reduction systems, such that, during the reproduction, the optical pickup unit is moved finely to provide a high resolution, whereas the shifting of the optical pickup unit from one to the other side of the disk is effected at a high speed. The motor as the power source therefore can operate at a low speed, thus reducing levels of vibration and noise.
