摘要: An image pickup apparatus including a photoelectric conversion element, first, a shutter speed for still-image pickup is set. Next, an image-pickup frame rate is set on the basis of the shutter speed for still-image pickup. Then, an operation of the photoelectric conversion element is controlled such that picked-up images are output at the set image-pickup frame rate. When the image-pickup frame rate that is set is higher than a moving-image-reproducing frame rate, a frame for use in a moving-image reproduction is generated from a plurality of frames of the picked-up images and reproduction is performed at the moving-image-reproduction frame rate.

摘要: A community generation support system and a community generation support method. A community generation support device (3) monitors public information stored in a web server (24). The community generation support device (3) detects a potential community on the basis of monitoring of information. The community generation support device (3) requests the web server (24) to generate a community space concerning the detected potential community. The web server (24) generates the community space. The community generation support device (3) transmits information on invitation for asking whether each potential community member wants to participate in the community to the user terminal (20) of the potential community member through the web server (24). The user terminal (20) transmits information on registration of participation to the community generation support device (3) through the web server (24). The user terminal (20) performs processing for making a user participate in the community.

摘要: A method for inhibiting the degradation of mammalian natriuretic peptides, in particular BNP, by using containers wherein the face coming into contact with specimens are made of silicone or plastics. This material inhibits the activation of a substance, which in turn, degrades the peptides. This method makes it possible to collect specimens for measuring natriuretic peptides stably and conveniently. Also provided is a method for measuring natriuretic peptides by using these containers.

摘要: The invention provides a text segmentation apparatus comprising means for analyzing an electronic text to determine likelihood of segmentation point for each of sentence ends in the text based on a coherent unit and means for segmenting the text into text segments based on the likelihood of segmentation point. The apparatus is programmed to segment the text segment at the position having the best likelihood of segmentation point within the text segment when the size of any of the segmented text segments exceeds a threshold value to be determined based on the specified text segmentation size. Particularly, the apparatus determines the similarity between the text parts contained in a pair of windows to be set up on the left and right sides of each sentence end position in the text so as to obtain similarity curves. Then, the apparatus determines the likelihood of segmentation point for each sentence end point based on the obtained similarity curves. The apparatus segments the text at the point having the best likelihood of segmentation point and further segments it at the point of the second best likelihood of segmentation point, and so on, until the size of all of the text segments becomes approximately equal to the specified segment size.

摘要: A plating-free solid wire for arc welding has pits opening on its circumference, and wider inside than at each opening, and/or pits having a portion non-irradiated with an externally incoming light. A sulfide and a polyisobutene-containing oil are present in the pits and/or on the wire surface, the latter being present in an amount of 0.1-2 g/10 kg of wire. Twenty or more pits are present in total per and along wire circumference. The effective pit length ratio is 0.5% inclusive-50% exclusive. 0.1-2 g of the oil is present per 10 kg of wire. 0.01-0.5 g/10 kg of 0.1-10-&mgr;m-particle-dia MoS2 is present in “bottleneck-like and/or cave-like pits”, on the wire surface or immediately under the wire surface. A 2-10 mass ppm/total wire mass of K compound in K is present in the pits and/or on the wire surface. These ensure good feedability and lubricating properties, and less spatters.
