摘要: A biological liquid collection device designed to draw blood using an “atmospheric-balanced vacuum” to ensure the blood is exposed to the sample atmospheric partial pressure oxygen and partial pressure carbon dioxide levels as found in standard arterial blood gas syringes, resulting in blood gas sample stabilization during collection and a superior vacuum shelf-life by reducing the gas permeation rate through the plastic tube. The biological liquid collection device comprises a collection module for receiving a biological liquid sample, an evacuated container having an open end and a closed end wherein the evacuated container contains the collection module therein, and a closure for closing the open end of the evacuated container. The evacuated container comprises a gas composition that is substantially equal to the gas composition of the atmosphere outside of the evacuated container. A method for forming the atmospherically balanced vacuum collection device is also provided.

摘要: The present disclosure discloses a pathogenic microorganism sample collection and preservation device with a protection function, including a sampler and a preservation container; the sampler and the preservation container are both packaged by independent aseptic packaging bags. The sampler includes a sample collection mechanism, a holding mechanism, and a protection mechanism arranged between the sample collection mechanism and the holding mechanism. Before sample collection, the preservation container is sealed by an assorted sealing cover. The sample collection and preservation device of the present disclosure is convenient for holding and flexible adjustment of a sample collection angle. The protection mechanism between the holding mechanism and the sample collection mechanism plays a role of shielding, thus avoiding the problem of cross contamination. In addition, the sampler and the preservation container are matched ingeniously, so that a reliable sealing effect is achieved, which avoids spilling or contamination during sample preservation and transferring.

摘要: A sealable container for preservation of a biological sample is provided. The sealable container includes a cap and an elongate body. The cap has a proximal open end and a distal end with a lumen extending from the proximal open end to the distal end. The elongate body extends from a handle portion to a specimen portion, where the specimen portion is configured to receive a biological sample thereon. The elongate body further includes a closure portion disposed between the handle portion and the specimen portion, where the closure portion is configured to make surface to surface contact with the cap when the specimen portion of the elongate body is fully inserted within the lumen of the cap. At least one of an inner surface of the cap and an outer surface of the elongate body includes a textured area with a textured surface finish.

摘要: Naturally occurring RNA pseudoknots fold into many topologies, yet their formation is poorly understood. Herein, by using high-resolution single-molecule force spectroscopy, the folding pathways of the H-type pseudoknot found in the preQ1-riboswitch in B. subtilis were investigated By holding a single riboswitch RNA molecule in the optical-trap, the structural rearrangements as the end-to-end distance change along the pulling direction, x at a force, F were followed. The data reveal a multistate folding, wherein the intermediate hairpin undergoes a unidirectional conformational switching in the presence of ligand to form the pseudoknot receptor. Specifically-designed mutant RNAs resisted the switching mechanism and resulted in a significantly reduced pseudoknot population (4.5%) compared to the wild-type (100%). The free-energy landscape highlighted two kinetic barriers (ΔG±) that interrupt the folding pathway. By coupling the exothermic ligand-binding reaction (ΔGbinding=−16 kT) to the folding events, the nascent transcript ensures successful barrier crossing, thus favoring the pseudoknot conformation.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide an automatic analyzer that can decrease the frequency of cleaning as compared to the past by suppressing breeding of bacteria and the like in a buffer tank as compared to the past and can reduce maintenance work time of an operator. Provided is an automatic analyzer comprising: an analysis module 20 that analyzes a specimen; and a supply system that supplies a liquid to the analysis module 20, wherein the supply system includes: a buffer tank 3 that temporarily stores pure water supplied from a pure water production device 50 outside of the analyzer; a supply channel 7 through which the pure water in the buffer tank 3 is sent to the analysis module 20; a circulation water pump 4 that feeds the pure water in the buffer tank 3; a circulation channel 8 through which the pure water discharged from the circulation water pump 4 is returned to the buffer tank 3; a sterilization mechanism 5 that sterilizes the pure water in the supply system; and a control unit 30 that controls an operation of each device in the supply system.
