A solid-state imaging device includes on a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type, a well of the opposite conductivity type and, in addition, a plurality of light-sensitive elements formed in the well. A reverse bias voltage applied to the semiconductor substrate with respect to the well causes charge stored in the light-sensitive elements less than or equal to a potential barrier voltage to leak out into the semiconductor substrate. On the substrate a detection circuit detects the resistance of the semiconductor substrate and a setting circuit sets the reverse bias voltage in such a manner as to keep the potential barrier voltage constant, based on the resistance detected by the detection circuit.

An image is exposed to light after a conductive and photoconductive material has been charged so that the charge of the portion exposed to light is neutralized and a latent image is thereby formed. Toner particles in a liquid developer are adsorbed onto the non-exposed portion so that development is performed. Then, the toner particles are dried by a drying device and thus aggregated toner particles are transferred to a transferring material due to an electrostatic force. Since the toner image is temporarily dried and is transferred in the aggregated form corresponding to the shape of the image, image disorder due to liquid fluidization that takes place at the time of liquid transference can be prevented. Therefore, a high quality transferred image is obtained.

The present invention relates to a connector for connecting optical fiber ribbons to each other, each of ribbons including a plurality of optical fibers spaced in line, and a method of attaching the same. The connector comprises an alignment member for placing the optical fibers in the grooves formed therein, a deformable metal member disposed on the optical fibers in the grooves of the alignment member, and a ferrule incorporated at the front end pportion with both the alignment member and the deformable metal member and adapted at the rear end portion to retain the unexposed portion of the optical fiber ribbon. Accordingly, the optical fibers are fixedly held between the alignment member and the deformable metal member while the ribbon is fixedly held by the rear end portion of the ferrule. The front ends of the optical fibers are cut at the front end of the ferrule. As the result, the optical fiber ribbon can remain fastened firmly and securely for a long period of time and additionally, its attaching work can be made with ease within a short time.

A prompter is disclosed which displays manuscripts and the like for a news caster in front of a TV camera for photographing the news caster. In the prompter, the manuscripts are displayed on a liquid crystal display panel and the manuscripts on the liquid crystal display panel are enlargedly projected on a screen in front of the TV camera. In the prompter, as a manuscripts display part, there is employed the liquid crystal display panel and, therefore, the TV camera can be reduced in weight and thus the operationability of the TV camera can also be improved.
