    摘要: A heat transmission retardant member 140 is formed of a cup-like shaped resin material utilizing nylon or polyacetals, comprising a collar 141, and a thick-walled cylinder portion 143 having at the lower end thereof a tapered portion 142. Said retardant member 140 contacting the outer surface of a heat-sensing driven member 100. Said retardant member 140 is mounted to said driven member 100 so as to cover the outer surface thereof and being mounted outside the second refrigerant passage 63, said cylinder portion 143 defining a space 144 between the exterior of the driven member 100 and the interior of said cylinder portion 143. By the existence of the activated carbon 70, the hunting phenomenon and the invasion of the refrigerant to a lower chamber 85 is prevented, and the heat from the heat transmission retardant member 140 is transmitted to the heat sensing driven member 100 via space 144 which enables to provide a further retardation to the response of the valve to the temperature change of the refrigant exiting the evaporator. The hunting is further suppressed effectively.

    摘要: An expansion valve 1 comprises a prism-shaped body 10, and a valve chamber 20 is formed within the body 10. Refrigerant supplied from a compressor flows into the valve chamber through a passage 22, passes between a valve means 42 and a valve seat 23, and travels toward an evaporator through a passage 24. Refrigerant returning from the evaporator enters the body 10 through a passage 26, and after the refrigerant temperature information is transmitted to the operating shaft 40, the refrigerant flows out through a passage 28 toward the compressor. Passages 22 and 28 open to a first side surface of the body, and passages 24 and 26 open to a second side surface orthogonal to the first surface. Such structure improves the degree of freedom for mounting the expansion valve 1.

Movement of a diaphragm 4 is transmitted to an actuating rod 17 via a member 16, and the actuating rod 17 actuated the movable member 18 to control the opening amount of the path between the valve member 9 and the orifice 30. An orifice member 100 affixed to the orifice 30 is made of a material harder than the valve body 10, and free from erosion or other damage by a refrigerant, which will otherwise occur at the valve opening portion.

    摘要: An outboard motor has a quieter operating recoil starter arrangement. The recoil starter has a starter drum with a dog clutch arrangement having two dog cam members. The dog cam members rotate between an initial position and an extended position under the influence of a clutch drive member. Specifically, the dog cams each have a portion which engages a starter pulley when a starter rope is pulled. The dog cams are configured to extend minimally into a corresponding slot of the starter pulley when in their extended position. Such configuration results in less chatter when the starter pulley speed exceeds the starter drum speed upon ignition of the engine.

    摘要: A mounting assembly for an anode of a corrosion protection system extends the useful life of the anode and hence the effectiveness of the system. The anode is mounted within an opening of an outboard motor engine. The engine also includes a coolant passage that extends through the engine and forms a portion of a cooling system. A biasing device biases the anode to contact the engine body. The anode also includes multiple contact surfaces which establish a plurality of electrical connections between the anode and the engine. In one mode, an electrically conductive cover links the anode to the engine at a point outside the opening. A seal is positioned between the opening and the cover to protect this electrical coupling. This outside connection thus ensures good electrical coupling between the anode and the engine body outside the presence of the coolant (e.g., salt water) flowing through the coolant passage.

The amount of refrigerant is controlled between a valve member 40 and a valve seat 16, and travels through a first passage 20 to an evaporator. The refrigerant returning from the evaporator travels through a second passage 50 and into the compressor. The valve chamber 14 is equipped with a bypass passage which is communicated through a narrow hole 24 to an opening 26 with a bottom, and through a conduit 28 to the first passage 20. The electromagnetic valve 100 comprises a plunger 130, and opens/closes the bypass passage by a pilot valve 150. A pressure switch 220 is equipped to an opening 54 communicated to the second passage 50, and when the pressure of the refrigerant returning from the evaporator is reduced, the valve 100 is operated and the bypass passage is opened.

The engine is positioned in the cowling and has a generally vertically extending crankshaft. A lower end of the crankshaft is arranged to drive the water propulsion device. The starter includes a drum connected to the crankshaft at a top end of the engine, a starter cord having a first end connected to the drum and a second end connected to a handle, and a cord guide for guiding the cord through the cowling, the cord guide including an arcuate cord-engaging surface. The cord extends through said cowling in a first direction and is then guided by the arcuate surface of the cord guide into a second direction to the drum.
