Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to over-the-air uplink-downlink (UL-DL) reciprocity calibration. A central unit transmits downlink (DL) calibration reference signal (RS) and a calibration request. The central unit receives, in response to the calibration request, a first uplink (UL) calibration RS and a first DL channel estimate associated with a first transmission point (TP) and a first wireless communication device. The central unit transmits a DL coordinated multipoint (CoMP) joint transmission signal according to an uplink-downlink (UL-DL) reciprocity calibration. The UL-DL reciprocity calibration is based on at least a first UL channel estimate based on the first UL calibration RS, the first DL channel estimate, a second UL channel estimate associated with a second TP and the first wireless communication device, and a second DL channel estimate associated with the second TP and the first wireless communication device.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to feedback for independent links. For example, channel state feedback may be based on the channel state of multiple links. In some aspects, the independent links may involve a first device (e.g., a user equipment) communicating via different independent links with different devices (e.g., transmit receive points (TRPs) or sets of TRPs). In some scenarios, channel state information (CSI) feedback may take into account the CSI-reference signals (CSI-RSs) from multiple links. For example, CSI feedback may be based on CSI-RSs from multiple links if the antenna sub-arrays for the links are close to one another. As another example, a decision as to whether CSI feedback is to be based on CSI-RSs from multiple links may depend on channel conditions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A device may use enhanced reporting mechanisms to support control information reporting on shared spectrum. In some cases, a device may utilize enhanced component carriers (eCCs) for data transmissions. In one example, the device may transmit control information (e.g., ACK/NACK, CSI, etc.) to a corresponding device using a CCA exempt transmission (CET). In another example, a device may report control information quasi-periodically. For instance, a device may be assigned a specified interval and a control feedback window for reporting control information (e.g., CSI). The window may provide a duration prior and subsequent to the specified interval during which a UE may transmit control information. For example, the device may perform a CCA reserving the channel for a duration that does not include the specified interval but may transmit feedback information based on determining the specified interval falls within the assigned window.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for selecting samples for secondary synchronization signal (SSS) detection are described. Several alternatives are provided for efficient cell identifier detection. In a first alternative, multiple bursts of a signal received from a cell are sampled with non-uniform spacing between sampling intervals to determine a sequence for cell identification. In a second alternative, samples of a first and a second signal received from a stronger cell are cancelled, and a sequence for detecting a weaker cell is determined by reducing effects of the samples of a third signal received from the weaker cell which do not overlap with the primary synchronization signal (PSS) or SSS of the stronger cell. In a third alternative, a sequence for detecting a weaker cell is determined by reducing effects of any sampled bursts that correspond to a high transmission power portion of a signal from a stronger cell.

Abstract: A base station may determine a Doppler metric associated with a wireless channel and a user equipment (UE). The Doppler metric may be determined from received information related to Doppler effects measured by the UE or from directly measured Doppler effects associated with uplink data received from the UE. Based on the determined Doppler metric, the base station may select one or both of a reference signal (RS) density and a channel estimation technique for the wireless channel and associated UE. The base station may transmit an indication of the RS density to the UE. Downlink data bursts and uplink data bursts may include RSs and data according to the indicated RS density. Further, the base station may transmit to the UE, an indication to communicate using the selected wireless channel estimation technique.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for uplink descriptor channels are described. An uplink descriptor channel may be used by a user equipment (UE) for providing indications that uplink transmissions over allocated uplink data resources are sent in a configuration different from a configuration indicated by an uplink grant. In various examples an uplink transmission may be transmitted by a UE, and received by a base station, and the uplink transmission may include the uplink descriptor channel with uplink data. An uplink descriptor channel may include indications that uplink control information is included in the uplink transmission, and/or that the uplink transmission employs a number of transmission intervals, a number of channels, and/or a different MCS than those indicated by the uplink grant. A base station may receive the uplink descriptor channel and adjust various parameters of decoding an uplink transmission and/or allocating radio frequency spectrum resources.

The method also includes cancelling the interference using an adaptive technique based on whether the interference has colliding Common Reference Signal (CRS) tones or whether the interference has colliding Dedicated Reference Signal (DRS) tones.
