摘要： A process for the separation of mixtures containing halocarbons and hydrogen fluoride. Either water alone or a blend comprising water and hydrogen fluoride is added to a mixture comprising a halocarbon and hydrogen fluoride to thereby form a first phase rich in the halocarbon and a second phase rich in hydrogen fluoride and water. The most preferred halocarbon is 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane. Preferably, the first and second phases are then separated. Optionally, the second phase rich in hydroger fluoride and water is also separated.

摘要： The present invention provides a novel lubricating composition comprising polybutylene glycol having a cap of a fluorinated alkyl group on at least one end thereof. The composition has a molecular weight between about 300 and about 4,000, and a viscosity of about 5 to about 150 centistokes at 37.degree. C. The composition is miscible in combination with refrigerant.As such, the present invention provides a composition for use in compression refrigeration and air-conditioning comprising: (a) a refrigerant selected from the group consisting of hydrofluorocarbon, hydrochlorofluorocarbon, fluorocarbon, and chlorofluorocarbon; and (b) a sufficient amount to provide lubrication of at least one polybutylene glycol having a cap of a fluorinated alkyl group on at least one end thereof.
