摘要: The invention relates to a luminaire (1) comprising a housing (2) having at least one side wall part (3) and a bottom wall part (5), a light source (7) being positioned in the housing (2), and a curved, optically transparent sheet (10) having a plurality of elongated linear prism structures with right top angles (16) on its concave surface. Said surface faces away from the light source (7). The invented luminaires (1) show reduced glare. They can be used with great advantage in office lighting and house lighting.

Each of the beam-forming structures (104) is adapted to enable light leaving a surface portion of the beam-forming structure (104) to be within a predetermined angle interval with respect to the surface portion. Both direct, functional light and indirect light may be provided, an increased optical efficiency may be achieved, glare control properties of the light outputted from the light-emitting device (100) may be improved and/or the ratio of light outputted from the first surface portion (101a) of the light guide (101) to light outputted from the second surface portion (101b) of the light guide (100) may be adjusted.

摘要: The present invention relates to a light emitting diode (LED) lighting device (10). The lighting device comprises a light guide plate (12), and a plurality of LEDs (16) accommodated in holes (14) arranged in the plane of the light guide. At least one hole has a first side facet (18) for coupling light from any LED in the hole into the light guide and a second opposite side facet (20) for coupling light out of the light guide. Further, the holes are arranged such that all first side facets are facing one direction. Such an LED based lighting device can be made thin and unobtrusive.

摘要: A window assembly (100,110,120,130) for irradiating infrared light (L) comprises a light guide (5) for infrared light (L), which is formed by a gap between a first transparent substrate (2), having an exterior surface and an interior surface, which faces the light guide (5), and a second transparent substrate (3) substantially parallel to the first transparent substrate (2) and having an exterior surface and an interior surface, which faces the light guide (5) and the interior surface of the first transparent substrate (3). A first and a second reflective layer (12,13), that are both substantially reflective for infrared light (L), extend over the interior surfaces of respectively the first and the second transparent substrate (2,3). The second reflective layer (13) is provided with an opening (21) through which at least part of the infrared light (L) exits the light guide (5). In one embodiment, the window assembly further comprises an infrared light source (1) for directing the infrared light (L) into the light guide (5). In this way the infrared light (L) leaves the light guide (5) in one main direction through the opening (21) of the second reflective layer (13) and through the second transparent substrate (3), thereby generating heat in one main direction only.

摘要: The invention relates to a backlighting system (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) and to a display device. The backlighting system comprises a plurality of segments (20, 21, 22, 23, 24) for selectively illuminating a predefined area of pixels of a display device. The backlighting system is configured for selectively controlling the intensity and/or color of the light emitted from the segment, each segment comprising a light source (30). The backlighting system (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) further comprises light barriers (40) for limiting the lateralspreading of the light emitted by the light source (30) towards the neighboring segments (20, 21, 22, 23, 24). The light barriers define grid-lines of a grid, and the light source (30) is arranged at a position on the grid-line which at least partially coincides with at least one of the light barriers. The effect of the measures according to the invention is that by positioning the light source of the segment on the same grid-line as the light barriers, the light from the light source spreads on either side of the light barrier towards the neighboring segments. This enables a predefined overlap of the light emitted by the segment towards its neighboring segments without the need for additional thickness of the backlighting system.
