    摘要: Disclosed are an LCD capable of realizing a pre-charging method even in the random data-enable mode, and an apparatus and method for driving the same. In the LCD driving apparatus, a timing controller outputs a vertical sync start signal based on a data-enable signal having an irregular output interval to control the output of the image data. A gate driver sequentially applies both first and second gate-on voltages to a same gate line based on the vertical sync start signal. The first gate-on voltage is to drive a previous line being most adjacent to and having the same polarity as the current line, and the second gate-on voltage is to drive the current line. An LCD panel is first charged with the first gate-on voltage supplied from the gate driver, and then charged with the second gate-on voltage, so that it can display analog image data received from the data driver during the second charging.

    摘要: A dual input mode liquid crystal display having high resolution and employing dynamic capacitance compensation (“DCC”) is provided. The liquid crystal display includes a timing controller including a DCC processing unit for applying dynamic capacitance compensation (“DCC”) to a part of the pixels, a timing redistribution block for converting a format of the DCC-applied data to a predetermined format for a source driver, and a control signal generating block for generating a control signal for displaying an image. Since the DCC processing unit uses only two frame memories, the DCC may be employed by a dual input mode LCD. In addition, since a clock frequency for data processing in the frame memory of the timing controller is preferably the same as the clock frequency in the timing controller of the dual input mode LCD, thereby preventing the increase of EMI.

    摘要: An LCD device is provided with an image signal modifier to reduce wire frame flickering. The image signal modifier monitors image signals and outputs modified image signals to a data driver for application to data lines and pixels in the LCD device. The image signal modifier retrieves modified signals from a set of predetermined modified signal values stored a lookup table. The image signal modifier performs calculations to interpolate between the predetermined modified signal values. The predetermined modified signal values are predetermined empirically as modified signal values that reduce wire frame flickering.

The gamma converter output is determined without using a look up table based on at least one difference curve having a linear portion, a quartic portion, and a critical value where the liner portion and the quartic portion intersect. The liquid crystal display further includes a data driver receiving the image data for selecting and outputting gray voltages corresponding to the image data, and an inverter controlling a lamp to emit light with a luminance of 80 cd/m2 or more.
