    摘要: The present invention concerns an apparatus for transmission of optical signals between a rotating part and a stationary part of a machine, particularly a computer tomograph, in which an optical transmitter is arranged on a first of the two parts and an optical receiver with an optical detector is arranged on a second of the two parts, via which optical signals emitted by the optical transmitter are received, whereby the optical receiver comprises an optical concentrator with an at least approximately horn-shaped geometry that concentrates incident optical radiation via internal reflection on side surfaces of the concentrator onto a detection area of the detector. The optical concentrator is formed from a material filling the entire inner volume of the concentrator and optically transparent for at least one wavelength with which the transmitter transmits. A signal-to-noise ratio improved relative to that of known apparatuses for data transmission can be achieved with the present apparatus.

    摘要: In a method for reducing a radiation dose in an x-ray CT (computed tomography) system, a maximum x-ray attenuation per projection is computed for every projection or for every n.sup.th projection and the measured angular attenuation profile for a last half rotation of the x-ray beam around a subject is stored, an extrapolation method is conducted for computing an extrapolated attenuation profile for a next half rotation based on the measured angular attenuation profile for the last half rotation, and a process is conducted for setting a dose level for the x-ray beam for a next projection, based on the extrapolated attenuation profile. The x-ray beam can be modulated, with characteristics of the beam modulation being set or controlled dependent on the extrapolated attenuation profile.

    摘要: In a method for adaptively modulating the power level of an x-ray tube of a computer tomography (CT) system for reducing an x-ray dose of an x-ray beam radiating through a patient and reaching detector means of said CT system during the acquisition of projections of body slices of the patient, the value of the maximum attenuation level per projection is established out of the patient projection data acquired for the respective projection and stored in a memory. The value of the maximum attenuation level for the next projection is predicted based on at least one of the stored values of the maximum attenuation levels and the respective power level of the x-ray tube for the next projection is established. Finally the respective power level of the x-ray tube for the next projection is accordingly adjusted.
