摘要: A laser surface treatment for reducing reflection loss on the surface of an optical material is provided. A metal film is formed on the surface of the optical material, and then the metal film is removed from the optical material by irradiation of an ultra-intense short-pulse laser beam having a pulse width of 1 femtosecond to 100 picoseconds, so that a fine periodic structure is formed on the surface of the optical material exposed by the removal of the metal film. The obtained fine periodic structure has asperities with a periodic interval of preferably 50 to 1000 nm, which can be controlled by changing the laser energy density.

摘要: When a lens holder 2A is in a neutral position, a ratio of a gap between opposing surfaces of one tilt magnet 10a, 10b and one tilt coil 5 which oppose to each other, to a radial direction thickness of the tile magnet 10a, 10b, is in the range of 1/2 to 1/3. In at least one tilt coil of the tilt coils, a ratio of a light axis direction inside distance of the tilt coil to a light axis direction height of the tilt magnet, is in the range of 1/1.5 to 1/4. With this arrangement, even if the objective lens is shifted in a tracking direction or in a focusing direction, variation in the sensitivity and the linearity of the radial tilt movement is small, and an internally accessible area is increased.

摘要: To provide a disk brake which makes it possible to efficiently manufacture a brake caliper and a vehicle body side support portion, while maintaining the positioning accuracy of the brake caliper. A front disk brake includes a brake caliper provided with a pair of caliper side mount portions and a caliper bracket provided with a pair of bracket side mount portions. The brake caliper is fixed to the caliper bracket by mounting fastening bolts in bolt passing holes and screw holes formed respectively in the mount portions. The bolt passing holes and the screw holes are provided at their portions on the sides of opposed surfaces with counterbores in which collar members are to be fitted. The lower-side counterbore in the brake caliper is formed in an oblong sectional shape elongate in the arrangement direction of the lower-side counterbore and the upper-side counterbore paired therewith.

摘要: A radially mounted disk brake has a caliper body secured to a support member secured to a vehicle body. The caliper body has mounting holes extending in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation of a disk rotor. Large-diameter hole portions are formed at the openings of the mounting holes on the side thereof closer to the support member. The large-diameter hole portions are fitted with the side wall surfaces of cylindrical step portions provided on the support member in such a manner that gaps are formed between the bottoms of the large-diameter hole portions and the distal end surfaces of the step portions. The center of the axial length of each mounting hole is positioned radially outward of the disk rotor in the axial direction of the mounting hole with respect to a shortest-distance portion of the caliper body at which the distance between the center of a cylinder bore and the mounting hole is shortest.

摘要: An objective lens driving apparatus for an optical head is disclosed which exerts a high thrust in focusing and radial directions with reduced power consumption and suppresses vibration by a rolling mode of a lens holder even when a focused position of an objective lens is shifted thereby to achieve a good reproduction characteristic. Each of a pair of magnets for forming magnetic fields necessary for causing a focusing coil and tracking coils to generate electromagnetic forces is magnetized so as to have three poles including a centrally located N pole and a pair of opposite side S poles in the radial or tracking direction. Each of the tracking coils is disposed such that the two opposite sides thereof in the radial direction are opposed separately to the N and S poles so that a thrust or electromagnetic force of a magnitude substantially equal to twice is generated in the radial direction. The permanent magnets have a length in the direction of the optical axis greater than that of the tracking coil so that the magnetic intensity is uniformed and the rolling mode of the objective lens is suppressed. The boundary portions of the three poles are positioned on the outer sides of yokes so that the thrust (or electromagnetic force for the focusing coil is increased.

摘要: This invention provides method of producing a polymer which comprises substitution of carboxylic acid group for a terminal halogen group of a polymer obtainable by atom transfer radical polymerization. The carboxylic acid group may be a carboxylic acid salt group, more preferably a carboxylic acid potassium salt group. In carrying out the atom transfer radical polymerization in the practice of the invention, a transition metal complex can be used as a polymerization catalyst. The transition metal complex may be a transition metal complex with an element of the group 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 of the periodic table as the central atom, more preferably a copper, nickel, ruthenium or iron complex and, in particular, a copper complex is used. The polymer obtainable by atom transfer radical polymerization is obtained by polymerization of a (meth)acrylic monomer, particularly the polymer obtained by polymerization of an acrylic acid ester monomer.
