摘要: The object of the present invention is to identify a molecule that is specifically recognized by antibody RM2 in tissue or serum of a cancer patient, and provide a method for diagnosing cancer in a simple manner with high specificity using the molecule as an indicator. The present method comprises evaluating a risk or grade of malignancy of genitourinary cancer in a subject using the level of the haptoglobin β chain to which antibody RM2 specifically binds or a fragment thereof in tissue or body fluid isolated from the subject as an indicator.

摘要: A novel carbohydrate antigen, β1,4-GalNAc-disialyl-Lc4, defined by monoclonal antibody RM2, is expressed in human prostate cancer, but not in benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) or normal prostate gland. Monoclonal antibody RM2 or other antibodies with similar specificity are useful for diagnosis of prostate cancer by immunohistology of biopsy samples, specifications from a total prostatectomy, and quantitative determination of RM2 antigen in sera of patients.

摘要: In an apparatus for recording and reproducing a burst-like digital information signal, a methd capable of predicting the time of occurrence of a header indicating the head of the first data of a digital information signal during its reproduction from a recording medium. The digital signal includes a plurality of data blocks each including a header indicative of the head of the block, and each header includes the address of the block. During recording of the digital signal on the recording medium, a plurality of headers which are substantially the same as the headers of the data blocks and including addresses having given relations with the addresses of the data blocks are inserted in a clock regenerating signal recorded before the digital signal for regenerating the clocks for the signal. The headers are inserted at a period equal to the length of each data block so as to be synchronized with the headers of the data blocks.

摘要: An apparatus for recognizing visual patterns of handprinted characters or the like by means of an optical character reader which reads the patterns by a so-called outermost point method. While tracing the contour of the pattern stored in a two-dimensional memory, the distances from the starting point of the tracing and the integrated values of the coordinates of the points traced on the contour from the starting points are simultaneously obtained successively to extract outermost points for the series of contours. According to this outermost points, the contours are segmented into the convex line segments, concavity line segments and hole segments and the corresponding parameters of features of each segment are detected. Simultaneously, the convex line segment of which is shorter than a predetermined length is rejected and the remaining segments are subjected to matching operation in accordance with preliminarily prepared dictionary, thereby making a decision as to the pattern's identity.

摘要: A collision sensor 1 is mounted on a pedal bracket 2 which are supported by a front frame 4, a front mount rail 5, and a reinforce 8 which are all located in front of the cab. The collision sensor 1 is connected through a cable 24 to the gas generator 21 of a pretensioner seat belt 16 and to the inflator 23 of an air bag 17. The pedal bracket 2, being high in rigidity, senses a shock wave well, and is scarcely damaged at the time of a collision. Since it is not exposed directly in the air, it is high in weather resistance, and is proper in maintenance because it is located at the position to which the hand can be readily extended. Thus, at the time of a collision, the degree of injury to the passenger is minimized.

摘要: A digital information signal transmitting/receiving method and system having a transmitter for transmitting an encrypted digital information signal and a plurality of receivers for receiving the encrypted digital information signal from the transmitter. The transmitter simultaneously distributes a plurality of identification codes associated with the receivers at a time ahead of the digital information signal. The receivers detect whether a particular identification code assigned to the receiver was included within a received plurality of identification codes. When the particular identification code has been detected as having been received the received encrypted digital information signal is decrypted into the original digital information. In order to request that a particular identification code be included so as to allow access to a program, either one of the receivers or the recorders each generate an information request signal. The transmitter is responsive to the information request signals to add to the digital information signal at a time ahead of the digital information signal, identification signals for identifying the receivers or the recorders which generated the information request signals, thereby producing a transmission signal formed of those signals, and to distribute this transmission signal to the receivers. The recorders control the received information signal to be recorded in response to the identification signals received by the receivers.
