    摘要: An inertia locking system for a seat of a vehicle includes a base member that is fixed to a seat structure and a Double D shaped shaft that rotates with a cam to allow the seat back to be adjusted. A movable inertia locking bracket has an opening including a circular portion and a slot portion. The Double D shaped shaft is disposed in the opening of the inertia locking bracket and includes flat opposite surfaces that prevent rotation of the Double D shaped shaft relative to the inertia bracket when the Double D shaped shaft is disposed in the slot portion of the opening. Acceleration causes the inertia locking bracket to slide forward such that the Double D shaped shaft is disposed in the elongate slot portion to prevent rotation of the Double D shaped shaft and prevent release of the seat back mechanism.

The inside handle is set at a position rearward of and close to a vehicle outer end portion of the partition wall member in the vehicle width direction. The partition wall member includes an inclining surface portion inclining such that the inclining surface portion becomes closer to a vehicle front side as extending toward a vehicle center from the vehicle outer end portion.

    摘要: An active bolster for an interior trim surface of an automotive vehicle has a plastic-molded outer trim panel with a closed-loop bonding section on an inside surface. A plastic-molded expandable bladder member has a central attachment section configured to attach to a support structure of the vehicle, a bonding flange along an peripheral edge, and a baffle section between the central attachment section and the bonding flange. The closed-loop bonding section and the bonding flange are configured to define a substantially closed toroidal region therebetween. An attachment body is molded in-situ to substantially fill the toroidal region. As a result of the in-situ molding of the attachment body in the toroidal region, the trim panel and bladder member become bonded via the attachment body resulting in a high bonding strength.

    摘要: An impact absorbing device includes a plate and a panel having a panel thickness. An intermediate portion has a portion thickness and extends between the plate and the panel. The intermediate portion defines a chamber between the plate and the panel. A port is in communication with the chamber. The portion thickness is less than the panel thickness. The impact absorbing device is movable to a deployed position to contact an occupant during a collision. Since the portion thickness is less than the panel thickness, the intermediate portion expands more quickly, providing an impact surface for the occupant.
