Abstract: A water purification system includes: a composite filter-cartridge assembly, a booster pump, a waste water solenoid valve and a water storage device. The composite filter-cartridge assembly includes a filtering housing and a composite filter-cartridge. The filtering housing has a raw water inlet, a pure water opening, a pure water outlet and a concentrated water outlet. The composite filter-cartridge includes a filtering assembly and a taste improvement filter-cartridge disposed downstream from the filtering assembly. The pure water opening is coupled to a water outlet end of the filtering assembly and a water inlet end of the taste improvement filter-cartridge. The booster pump is connected to the raw water inlet, the waste water solenoid valve is connected to the concentrated water outlet, and the water storage device is connected to the pure water opening.

The filter cartridge assembly (10) has a water inlet (110), a purified-water outlet (120), a purified-water return port (130), a pure-water outlet (140) and a waste discharge port (150). The pure-water pipeline (40) is communicated with the pure-water outlet (140), and the pure-water pipeline (40) has a pure-water external port (410) and a second valve (420) configured to control on and off of the pure-water pipeline (40). The waste discharge pipeline (50) has a first end communicated with the waste discharge port (150) and a second end communicated with an outside.

Abstract: A reverse osmosis system includes a membrane chamber having a feed line. The chamber generates a permeate stream and a brine stream from the feed line. A feed pump pressurizes the feed line. A first flow meter generates a first flow signal corresponding to a flow of fluid in the permeate stream. A booster device has a turbine in fluid communication with the brine stream and a pump in fluid communication with the feed line. A motor is coupled to the turbine device and a variable frequency drive is attached to the turbine device operating in response to the first flow signal. A second flow meter generates a second flow signal corresponding to a flow of fluid in the brine stream and a variable size nozzle operates an opening in response to the second flow meter.

Abstract: A system for removing minerals from a brine using electrodialysis. One system includes a gypsum removal system configured to receive a feed stream having a first amount of gypsum, to extract at least a portion of the gypsum from the feed stream, and to produce a first output having a second amount of the gypsum less than the first amount of the gypsum. The system also includes an electrodialysis (ED) system fluidly coupled to the gypsum removal system and configured to receive the first output from the gypsum removal system, to produce a second output having a substantially sulfate hardness free sodium sulfate solution, to produce a third output having a sodium chloride solution, and to produce a fourth output having a mineral solution.

Abstract: A method and a system are provided for producing water from atmospheric air by contacting the air with an aqueous hygroscopic material in a contacting chamber and allowing a portion of the water from the air to be adsorbed into the aqueous hygroscopic stream. The adsorbed water is then subsequently separated from the hygroscopic material to provide a clean water stream and a reconstituted hygroscopic stream.
