摘要: A device and method for shortcut nitrogen removal and nitrite-oxidizing bacteria activity inhibition are disclosed herein. An embodiment of the present invention provides a hollow fiber diffuser comprising: a plurality of hollow fibers on which bacteria can be attached and grow; and an inlet capable of supplying gas to one sides of the plurality of hollow fibers, wherein the gas includes oxygen and carbon dioxide, nitrite can be produced by the oxygen, and the concentration of oxygen in the gas is adjusted by the oxygen and the carbon dioxide.

摘要: Total ammonia nitrogen in a volume of sludge in an aeration tank is measured and compared to a target ammonia nitrogen setpoint to calculate an airflow target for adjusting the measured total ammonia nitrogen toward the target ammonia nitrogen setpoint. The airflow target may be an airflow rate or, for an SBR, an airflow duration, and airflow into the aeration tank is adjusted according to the airflow target. A target solids retention time setpoint is also calculated from information relating to the airflow target and the solids retention time is adjusted toward the target solids retention time setpoint. The waste activated sludge flow rate for the aeration tank may be adjusted to adjust the solids retention time for the aeration tank toward the target solids retention time setpoint.

摘要: In this present disclosure, a computing implemented method is designed for predicting the effluent total nitrogen concentration (TN) in an urban wastewater treatment process (WWTP). The technology of this present disclosure is part of advanced manufacturing technology and belongs to both the field of control engineer and environment engineer. To improve the predicting efficiency, a recurrent self-organizing RBF neural network (RSORBFNN) can adjust the structure and parameters simultaneously. This RSORBFNN is developed to implement this method, and then the proposed RSORBFNN-based method can predict the effluent TN with acceptable accuracy. Moreover, online information of effluent TN may be predicted by this computing implemented method to enhance the quality monitoring level to alleviate the current situation of wastewater and to strengthen the management of WWTP.

The feed stream is a liquid contaminated with ammonia. At least one exchange column is located between the system inlet and the system outlet. The ion column includes an ion exchange material, a column inlet connected to one of the flow control valves, and a column outlet connected to another of the flow control valves. The system also includes a regenerant stream of an aqueous solution of sodium cations, as well as an ammonia brine stream made up of the regenerant stream and ammonia.

摘要: A method and system for treating wastewater is disclosed. In one embodiment the method includes introducing the wastewater into an aerated anoxic treatment unit, flowing an oxygen containing gas into the wastewater in the aerated anoxic treatment unit at a first flow rate, measuring a concentration of a nitrogen species in the wastewater in the aerated anoxic treatment unit, comparing the measured concentration of the nitrogen species to a target nitrogen species concentration, adjusting the flow of the oxygen containing gas into the wastewater in the aerated anoxic treatment unit to a second flow rate in response to a difference in the nitrogen species and the target nitrogen species concentrations, and maintaining the second flow rate for a time period sufficient for the wastewater to be treated in the aerated anoxic treatment unit and form an anoxically treated liquid having a reduced concentration of the nitrogen species.

摘要: Methods are provided for the treatment of livestock or poultry confinement facilities equipped with manure collection zones (e.g., a manure pit or litter), in order to reduce and mitigate the effects of gaseous ammonia within the facility. The treatment involves application of an aqueous mixture including a partial calcium salt of a maleic-itaconic copolymer and a partial ammonium salt of a maleic-itaconic copolymer. Preferably, the amount of the partial calcium salt copolymer is greater than the amount of the partial ammonium salt copolymer. The treatment methods provide prompt and lasting reductions in gaseous ammonia within the confinement facility.
