摘要: In one embodiment, a hydrogel-enzyme construct for performing high temperature enzymatic reaction on paraoxon, and/or for performing enzymatic reaction on paraoxon following exposure to high temperature, includes a hydrogel having multiple layers of poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) and a plurality of dPTE2 enzyme molecules. Individual dPTE2 enzyme molecules are embedded between adjacent PMAA layers and are covalently bonded with respective individual PMAA layers. The hydrogel-enzyme construct is capable of performing enzymatic reaction on the paraoxon when the paraoxon is exposed to the hydrogel-enzyme construct under a temperature condition of up to above 99° C. and below 100° C. or when the paraoxon is exposed to the hydrogel-enzyme construct after the hydrogel-enzyme construct has been heated to a temperature condition of up to 550° C., where the enzymatic reaction on the paraoxon by individual dPTE2 molecules embedded within the hydrogel occurs at a residual activity of between 20% and 100%.

摘要: In one embodiment, a bathymetry system includes a base slab, multiple spacer assemblies, a decking layer, multiple computer numerical control routed blocks, a waterproof coating, and multiple floor joints. The spacer assemblies are coupled with a top surface of the base slab, the decking layer is disposed on top surfaces of the spacer assemblies, the blocks are disposed on a top surface of the decking layer, floor joints are disposed between blocks and the decking layer, and the waterproof coating is disposed on top surfaces of the blocks. The top surfaces of the routed blocks are shaped so that the blocks collectively provide a bathymetry profile, such as a bottom contour of a riverbed.

摘要: A revetment container including series of compartments conjoined to form a line of compartments with each compartment including a first sub-compartment and a second sub-compartment with the two sub-compartments having differing thickness in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the series of compartments and a thinner of the two sub-compartments including one or more tension bearing members to control thickness expansion of the thinner sub-compartment where the bearing member is longer than the unstressed thickness of the thinner sub-compartment and preferentially located in a top half of the height of the thinner sub-compartment. Additionally, a revetment container compartment may be provided with a sub-compartment sized to accept ballistic panels which can quickly be inserted to attain some level of protection. Furthermore a revetment contain compartment may be augmented with the addition of slat armor.

摘要: An apparatus detects a transient thermal gradient in a substrate. The apparatus is comprised of an electromagnetic radiation source configured to emit source electromagnetic radiation; a fast shutter configured to block the source electromagnetic radiation when closed, and open in response to a command to pulse the source electromagnetic radiation; a substrate support that supports a substrate disposed to emit a pulsed radiation from a back side of the substrate when the source electromagnetic radiation is pulsed through the substrate; and a detector configured to face the back side of the substrate. The detector is used to detect a transient thermal gradient in the pulsed radiation.

A housing sheet is configurable to form at least part of a shaped charge enclosure enclosing a shaped charge and biasing an explosion in a desired direction.
