Abstract:
A foam cleaning composition is provided that includes about 0.05 wt. % to about 10 wt. % total amount of surfactant, at least about 80 wt. % water, and a foam-boosting solvent having a HLB value of at least about 6.9 and an OHLB value of between about 12 and about 20. The foam-boosting solvent is provided at a weight ratio of the foam-boosting solvent to the total amount of surfactant of at least about 1:100. The foam cleaning composition exhibits at least 50 wt. % foam according to a 15 second vertical separation test. A foam dispenser and a method for foaming a cleaning composition are provided.
Abstract:
A foam-generating kit contains a non-aerosol container with a foam-generating dispenser and a high surfactant composition, preferably within the container. The high surfactant composition comprises, by weight of the high surfactant composition, at least 20% of a surfactant system. When the foam-generating dispenser is employed with the high surfactant composition, the foam-generating dispenser generates a foam having a foam to weight ratio of greater than about 2 mL/g.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a treatment article and a method for treating a fabric by delivering one or more powdered benefit agents to a fabric in a tumble dryer and thus providing at least one fabric benefit such as sanitization and/or disinfection, whitening and/or stain removal to the fabric during the tumble drying process. The treatment article functions to dispense at least one powdered benefit agent to the fabric by means of a diffusing membrane having an average pore diameter such that the tumbling and/or heating action provided during the tumble drying process results in the delivery of an oxidant material in the form of a powdered benefit agent to the initially damp or wet fabric to provide at least one primary fabric benefit to the treated fabric. Optionally, a second and/or third benefit agent may additionally be included in the treatment article for simultaneous delivery of one or more additional fabric benefits. The invention also relates to a treatment kit employing a treatment article with instructions for the effective delivery of one or more fabric benefits to a fabric during a tumble drying process.
Abstract:
Methods, improved compositions and kits are employed that provide dosing and cleaning solutions containing a halogen-based oxidant effectively delivered to remediate microfloral and biofilm development on the laundering surfaces of enclosed horizontal axis washers. The improved compositions, and the methods and kits employing them, provide for effective remediation while minimizing and/or preventing detrimental effects upon halogen-susceptible surfaces of the laundering devices, including reduced corrosion and biofilm on interior metal and laundering surfaces.
Abstract:
A device for applying stain formulation to a garment or article of clothing while it is being worn is disclosed. The device includes a reservoir with a valve assembly for dispensing an effective stain removal formulation directly to the stain, spot or mark. The device also includes a shell accommodating absorbent pads. After the stain removal formulation is applied, an absorbent pad is pressed and/or rubbed on the stain to lift and remove the stain and to absorb or wick excess fluid thereby reducing the amount of time the resulting wet spot takes to dry. Effective stain removing formulations for on-the-go use are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A fluid applicator device includes a wipe layer, and a back layer attached to the wipe layer to form an interior space therebetween. A pouch is positioned within the interior space, and a fluid composition is contained within a cavity defined in the pouch. Exit structure is defined in the pouch through which the composition exits the cavity. A flap is defined by an extension of the pouch material and is folded over onto the pouch so as to releasably seal over the exit structure. The flap has an extension that extends out from between the wipe layer and back layer a sufficient distance so as to be grasped by a user. When the flap extension is pulled by the user, the flap is caused to unfold and unseal the exit structure. The fluid composition is the pressed out of the pouch with use of the applicator.
Abstract:
A lavatory freshening and/or cleaning system comprises a dispenser for dispensing liquid composition from under the rim of a lavatory bowl. The dispenser is in the form of a reservoir arranged for suspension from the rim of a lavatory bowl, and the reservoir contains the liquid composition. The liquid composition comprises a combination of anionic and non-ionic surfactants having a total concentration equal to substantially 7.6 wt. %, a thickening agent having a concentration of 0.40 wt. % and a perfume having a concentration of 6.00 wt. %.
Abstract:
This invention generally relates to compositions and method of producing diluted hypohalous acid and hypohalous acid vapor. These compositions can be used to treat allergen containing surfaces, hard surfaces, food contact surfaces, hospital surfaces, food surfaces, kitchen surfaces, bathroom surfaces, human surfaces, animal surfaces, children's items, outdoor surfaces, soft surfaces, and medical instruments. These compositions can be converted to solid particulate or granular compositions. These compositions can be put into a variety of containers which preserve the stability. These compositions can be used to treat allergens and molds and as part of a mold detection system. These compositions can be dispersed into the air to enable microbiological control.
Abstract:
Compositions, articles and methods are provided for supplying fabric care benefits to clothing or fabrics in an automated washing machine and by manual washing. The fabric care compositions preferably have less than about 5% detergent surfactants, more preferably less than 3%, even more preferably less than 1% and are most preferably free of detergent surfactants. Similarly, the fabric care compositions preferably have less than about 5% fabric softener actives, more preferably less than 3%, even more preferably less than 1% and are most preferably free of detergent surfactants. The laundry articles can take a variety of forms in a variety of physical states all of which will rapidly dispense a unitized amount of one or more selected fabric care agents to a wash and/or rinse bath solution during the laundering process under a variety of conditions. The invention also pertains to laundry kits that contain a variety of such articles and instructions concerning their use. Likewise, methods for preparing a customized laundry solution to obtain a specific fabric care benefit selected based on the user's personal preferences and/or the fabric care needs of the fabrics being laundered are also provided. Further, the present invention also concerns methods for assisting a consumer in identifying the unitized articles to be used in preparing a laundry solution that will impart desired fabric care benefits as well as merchandising displays for dispensing the articles, assembling customized laundry kits and instructing the consumer on the selection and use of laundry articles.
