    摘要: The present invention relates to a rotatable cover which can be screwed or plugged on and is to be fastened on a stationary connection of a motor vehicle radiator or compensator reservoir of cooling and heating systems. The cover has a screw or plug cap and/or swivel cap and a rotatable engagement part in which a valve in the form of a combined overpressure/underpressure unit is arranged concentrically. The valve has a sealing member which produces a sealing connection with the stationary connection when the cover is applied. When the cover is positioned on the stationary connection, it is possible to prevent by means of a temperature-related control member removal, such as unscrewing or twisting of the cover. The temperature-related control member or a coupling part actuated by means of the temperature-related control member can be moved substantially radially between a coupling position and a release position. Consequently, a cover is produced which cannot be removed in cooling systems in which the temperature is still excessive, but which can be removed only when the excessive temperature has fallen completely, the cover nevertheless having a space-saving structure.

    摘要: A thermally locking radiator cap for fitting on the filler neck flange of an automotive radiator, which prevents the radiator cap from becoming detached from the filler neck flange when the radiator is hot. The cap uses a bi-metallic strip captured on the top surface of the radiator cap and having an end which goes through the opening of the radiator cap and engages the filler neck flange to lock the cap in place. Colors are placed on the bi-metallic strip adjacent to a window at the top of the radiator cap so that when the bi-metallic strip moves as a result of expansion, the colors change to indicate that the cap is either locked or free.

    摘要: In a cooling circuit for internal combustion engines which includes a cooling jacket of the engine, a coolant pump, a radiator, a mixing thermostat, and an expansion tank, an excess-pressure valve is connected in the area between the cooling jacket and the radiator and a vacuum valve is connected in the area between the radiator valve of the mixing thermostat and the suction side of the coolant pump; both valves are connected with the coolant reservoir in the expansion tank which in communication with the atmosphere, is without excess pressure; high excess pressure values as well as low vacuum values in the cooling circuit are precluded thereby; a vent valve provides for an especially effective venting of the cooling circuit into the expansion tank in cooperation with the sucking back of coolant into the cooling circuit by means of the vacuum valve.
