摘要: Free-standing, prescription, convex lens spectacles are mounted in front of a swivel mirror which benefits people with the eye condition hypermetropia or farsightedness. The free-standing lenses are rimless and are connected to L-shaped arms which are attached to the frame of the swivel mirror. The lenses are adjusted by an optometrist, along with the L-shaped arms to custom fit each individual. The farsighted person looks at the mirror through the lenses. One can now use two hands to apply cosmetics to eyes and face, or to attend to eyes and face without image being blurred, and by not having conventional spectacles on the face to only get in the way.

摘要: An optical device provides a unitary, functional eyewear device that enables the viewer to simultaneously receive both primary (on-axis) and secondary (off-axis) images. The optical device includes a primary lens, of a shape and size to be mounted in a frame and worn as traditional eyewear. This primary lens has some inherent reflectivity, transmitting some portion of the light reaching it, and reflecting the remainder. A secondary image mirror portion is preferably mounted along one edge of the primary lens so as to capture at least some desired portion of the light reflected from the primary lens. This secondary image mirror acts more as a true (opaque) mirror, reflecting some significant portion of the light impinging upon it. By proper alignment of this secondry image mirror adjacent the primary lens, some of the light initially reflected by the primary lens is re-reflected back towards the primary lens, where a portion of such light will be transmitted through the primary lens to the viewer's eye. Thus, the viewer is able to perceive two images: the first on-axis (straight ahead) image initially transmitted through the primary lens, and the second off-axis (from above, below, or to the side of the viewer, depending upon the secondady image mirror location) image initially reflected by the primary lens, and then re-reflected by the secondary image mirror.

摘要: A method and apparatus for producing and viewing stereoscopic images through the use of a color coded image whereby the desired depth or distance is based upon the color of the portion of the image being viewed. Therefore the parts of the image which are to appear distant are colored red whereas the parts of the image to appear in the foreground are colored blue with the middle ground or intermediate distances being colored green or yellow. The color coded image is viewed through a prism glass constructed so that blue light which passes through the prism is bent toward a sharper angle than red light. Because the apex of the prism before each eye points toward the nose or center of the glasses the eyes must then turn more inward to see a blue object than to see a red object even though they are in actuality in the same plane on the display. This leads to brain to interpret, by means of parallax, that the blue image is closer and the red image is more distant unless the parallax is greatly contradicted by other depth clues such as relative size, position and perspective. In a preferred form, a double prism is used for each eye in order to eliminate single prism problems such as visual disorientation and eye strain.

摘要: A sight-facilitating apparatus is provided capable of providing magnifications of about 4X to 8X in an aesthetically pleasing manner. An elongated casing has a light entry at one portion thereof and a light exit at an opposite portion thereof. A prismatic telescopic lens system including an objective, an ocular, and the like is mounted within the casing so that light entering the casing throught the light entry passes through the lens system and exits the light exit, with provision for adjusting the focus of the lens system. The objective is mounted within the casing so that the majority of the focal length thereof extends parallel to the direction of elongation of the casing, the light from the first optical element of the lens system being directed along the direction of elongation of the casing. The casing is preferably mounted on top of or incorporated into an eyeglass frame, between the ear pieces, so that the direction of elongation of the casing extends substantially horizontally between the wearer's eyes, with the light exit adjacent a wearer's eye. The wearer may look through the eyeglass lenses and then by tilting his/her eyes with respect to his/her head an angle of about 10.degree., look through the light exit.

摘要: A method and device for creating the appearance of an anatomical member of a pair when one of the members is missing. The image of the present anatomical member is sensed and projected from the proper location of the missing member thereby reproducing the appearance of the present member at the proper location for the missing member and creating the illusion that both anatomical members are present.

摘要: A new form of eyeglass construction is disclosed having a retrovision capability including a corrective effect. One of the eyeglass lenses is mirrored on at least part of its substantially flat forward surface so that light rays emanating from behind the wearer''s head pass through the lens twice before reaching his eye. The lens may be designed to correct any defect in the vision of that eye to the greatest extent possible. Opaque material can be applied to portions of the lens to screen out extraneous images.
