摘要: An image display device for special uses which improves a color resolution of a particular color and increases a color reproducibility is provided. In the image display device, an area in which a gradient is gentle is provided to a partial region of a gamma curve denoted by a relationship of an input value (gray level) and an output value (luminance relative value) so that chromaticity points on chromaticity coordinates are unevenly distributed, thereby improving a chromatic resolving power (color resolution) of a particular color. In this manner, the color reproducibility of special monitors which display images of a particular color range represented by a monitor for remote medical care and a monitor for surgical operation can be improved.

摘要: There is described an image processing apparatus that converts (n+m)-bit monochromatic image data of a single channel into n-bit color display image data of three channels or more, based on predetermined correlations. The apparatus includes luminance and chromaticity calculating sections to calculate luminance and chromaticity information corresponding to each of monochrome signal values; a signal value determining section to determine each combination of plural-channel color signal values represented by the n-bit color display image data, based on the luminance and chromaticity information, so that each combination of the plural-channel color signal values corresponds to each of the monochrome signal values; and a correlation establishing section to establish the predetermined correlations between the (n+m)-bit monochromatic image data and the n-bit color display image data, so that each combination of the plural-channel color signal values and each of the monochrome signal values are correlated with each other.

摘要: A high percentage of preventable medical errors occur due to poor communication during the period when patient care is handed from one caregiver to another. Electronic annotations from patient specific body sensor networks are created and classified according to the caregiver and the urgency of the annotation to ensure that no information goes unnoticed during the transfer of care. Sensors (10) of each body sensor network store the annotations, and share the annotations with all the other sensors in the network. The sensors (10) communicate wirelessly with a monitor (12), nurses station (14) a portable device (16) or other device (19) associated with a medical facility network to display the annotations for the caregiver on an associated display (12a, 14a, 16a, 19a). The caregiver can view, create, edit, and delete annotations with input devices (12b, 14b, 16b, 19b) as appropriate. The system can be applied in a hospital or care facility in which patients are monitored with a body sensor network based monitoring system. This includes ICUs, ERs ORs, preparation rooms, cathlabs, and diagnostic imaging rooms, as well as others.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of reproducing a gray scale image (1) in colors on a color monitor (6), in which method each shade of gray (2) is assigned, using a look-up table (4, 5), a given output value (R, G, B) for driving the electron guns (8R, 8G, 8B) of the color monitor. Assignment is performed in such a manner that a given color deviation is imparted to successive shades of gray, which deviation enables differentiation of the shades of gray by a human observer without such deviations becoming disturbing. Consequently, the information concerning the optical density of the original gray scale image (1) is preserved; this is important notably for the interpretation of medical images. Additionally, the special display properties of the monitor (6) and/or the ambient circumstances can be taken into account in the look-up table (4, 5) in order to optimize the reproduction of the gray scale image.

摘要: A critical care workstation includes a display device and a processor, coupled to the display device. The processor executes both a general purpose operating system controlling execution of a selected program for displaying images representing non-real-time data on the display device, and a real-time kernel, controlling execution of a program for displaying images representing real-time data on the display device simultaneously with the display of the non-real-time data. In addition circuitry, responsive to user input, selects a non-real-time display program to execute under the control of the general purpose operating system from among a plurality of available non-real-time display programs.
