A hole (64) is provided in the dielectric housing (32) behind the threaded hole (58) in the shield (46) for threadingly receiving the threaded member (14, 54) after the shank 54 of the threaded member (14, 54) passes through the threaded hole (58) in the shield (46).During assembly, the threaded members (14, 15) self thread into interfering portions of the housing (32) defined by the housing holes (64) to thereby increase the resistance of threading in order to prevent stripping of the threaded holes (58) in the shield (46).

The face plate, and header therewith, is secured to the PWB by mounting tabs (44) secured to and extending from the face plate. Each mounting tab is relatively thin and has its narrow-width peripheral edge portion (56) adjacent to the surface (24) of the PWB. The edge portion has an opening (54) sized to accept a rivet (62) to affix the bracket to the PWB. The edge portion contacts a ground pad (66) on the PWB to provide grounding of the PWB through the bracket. The bracket includes centering tabs (48) which engage the edges (62) of the chassis openings (10) to properly position the header in the opening.

A contact block including the mating face and a terminal face to which the conductors of a cable are individually connected is made by shaping an array of conductive rods and supporting dielectric material to form a smooth surface including dielectric matrix material and the ends of the electrically conductive rods.

摘要： A terminal-protecting-board type connector comprises: a first connector housing into which male terminals are inserted; a terminal protecting board set in the first connector housing; a second connector housing in which female terminals are inserted; and an engaging simple bolt and tightening nut for engaging the first and second connector housings to each other. The terminal protecting board includes a flat plate having terminal supporting holes and extraction holes in correspondence to the terminal accommodating holes of the first connector housing, a pair of locking pieces formed on the rear surface of the flat plate, and a pair of hook pieces formed on the front surface of the flat plate. The first connector housing has a pair of temporary locking ears on the inner surfaces to temporarily lock the terminal protecting board and a pair of locking holes with which the locking pieces of the terminal protecting board are engaged. With this connector, it can be readily detected whether or not the end portions of the male terminals are deformed when inserted into the connector housing, the end portions of the main terminals are positively protected until the engagement of the connector housings has been achieved, and the male terminals can be extracted without removal of the terminal protecting board.

摘要： A connector which includes a male connector housing (1), a female connector housing (2), and a rotary shaft (3) for camming the male connector housing (1) into engagement with the female connector housing. The male connector housing 1 includes flexible arms (6) having engagement claws (8) for alternatively engaging holes (19) and (20) provided in the female connector housing so as to retain the connector housings in a provisionally engaged position or a completely engaged position. The flexible arms also include a constrictive portion (7) for flexing the arms outwardly when the shaft is inserted into the connector housings. As a result, the engagement claws (8) are disengaged from the provisional engagement holes (19) so that the connector housings can be moved to the completely engaged position. After the connector housings have been moved to the completely engaged position as a result of rotation of the shaft, the shaft can than be removed from the connector housings so that the claws (8) engage holes (20).

摘要： An improved electrical connector panel standoff fastener includes a panel-mounted stud with an affixed cap nut which is captive within the cable end connector shell. The stud includes a knurled head which is pressed into the chassis panel from the inside out. The stud includes a knurled head sized so that excessive bulging of the panel cutout does not occur upon pressing the stud into the panel. The desired standoff height is maintained by an end wall within the cap nut which acts as a screw stop. Also, the stud may be internally threaded to receive a screw from the opposite side of the panel to fasten the connector receptacle to the panel. The invention may further include a locking device such as a plug inserted into the threads of the stud.
