Abstract:
Methods, graphical user interfaces and devices for creation and management of voicemail greetings are disclosed. A user of a mobile communication device can create and manage multiple voicemail greetings. In one aspect, a user of a mobile communication device can create customized voicemails. The customized voicemails can be assigned to specific contacts (or groups of contacts) known to the mobile communication device. The customized voicemail greetings can also have controlled expiration dates. In another aspect, customized voicemails can be assigned to incoming calls in real-time.
Abstract:
In a network having a plurality of subscriber devices, a plurality of base stations and a server, a system and method of modifying policy settings are provided. Each base station transmits wirelessly across a geographic region. A subscriber device, capable of roaming between regions, establishes a wireless link with the server via the base stations. The network contains a communication policy determining from which other communication devices a subscriber device can receive voice calls. The server updates the policy based on requests from subscriber devices. The determination of whether to update the policy can be based on a record of rejections respective to the caller requested to be blocked. Alternatively, the policy can be updated according to a trust policy maintained on the server respective to the subscriber device making the request; the trust policy represents the procedure to follow when a request is received from that subscriber device.
Abstract:
The television receiver apparatus in the prior art has such a problem that, when phone calls come in this receiver set while the user watches a television, incoming calls of all phone calls are informed and also the television watching is suspended or interrupted. A telephone device of the present invention includes a phone book portion 7 for storing previously the sender information used to specify the sender as phone book information, and an incoming call display control portion 8 for executing control such that the sender information obtained from the incoming call sensing portion 5 is compared with the phone book information when the incoming call sensing portion sensed the incoming call while the content of the television broadcasting is displayed on the display portion 9, and the content of the television broadcasting and the sender information or the phone book information are displayed simultaneously on the display portion 9 when the sender information coincides with the phone book information or the sender information or the phone book information is not displayed when the sender information does not coincide with the phone book information. Such an effect can be achieved that, when the phone call comes in from the sender except those being listed previously in the phone book portion while the user watches the television, it can be prevented that the incoming call is displayed simultaneously on the television screen.
Abstract:
An in-vehicle handsfree apparatus establishes a handsfree profile connection with at least two cellular phones. It may be determined that a first cellular phone and a second cellular phone are receiving incoming calls at the same time, or that while a first cellular phone is calling, a second cellular phone is receiving an incoming call. In such a case, based on attributes (for example, a holder or intended use) of the first and second cellular phones, a notice manner of information on incoming call or information on telephone call is differentiated, for instance, in regard to a background color of a display window.
Abstract:
The subject disclosure is directed towards mobile device privacy and anonymity. When a contact is marked as private, or when a device operates in a private mode, one or more privacy-related actions with respect to an incoming or outgoing communication are performed. Privacy-related actions include logging private telephone call information to a private, protected log, storing private message content to a private protected store, or not saving any such information or content. Another privacy-related action comprises not allowing a visible or audible notification to occur when a private communication is received.
Abstract:
A cellular telephone handset stores audio files previously recorded by the user as well as voice mail messages from other users and selectively transmitted selected ones of these files to the remote listener, or to the voice mail system of a remote user. Voice mail messages are composed, stored, transmitted, forwarded and reviewed using a voice mail system without ringing the remote party's telephone, much as email is composed, stored, transmitted and reviewed using an email server.
Abstract:
The present invention provides flexible call processing. In one embodiment, a first call from a calling party intended for a called party is received at a call processing system. The call processing system places a second call to a telephonic device associated with the called party. The calling party and called party communicate via the first and second calls. A determination is made that the first call has been terminated. A call-back instruction is received from the called party while the second call is still in place. At least partly in response to receiving the call-back instruction, a third call is placed to a terminal associated with the calling party. The calling party and the called party can communicate via the second call and the third call.
Abstract:
A device with a touch-sensitive display may be unlocked via gestures performed on the touch-sensitive display. The device is unlocked if contact with the display corresponds to a predefined gesture for unlocking the device. The device displays one or more unlock images with respect to which the predefined gesture is to be performed in order to unlock the device. The performance of the predefined gesture with respect to the unlock image may include moving the unlock image to a predefined location and/or moving the unlock image along a predefined path. The device may also display visual cues of the predefined gesture on the touch screen to remind a user of the gesture.
Abstract:
A control unit detects whether or not a mobile phone is in a state of data communication with an external disc device through a signal input/output unit and a communication path. During the period in which it is detected that the mobile phone is in the state of data communication, an incoming call or electronic mail through an antenna if detected is recorded in an incoming memory unit. In this period, notification of the incoming by means of a notification unit (LED unit, vibration unit, display unit), however, is not performed.
Abstract:
A programmable communicator device is disclosed having a wireless communications circuit, including an antenna, configured to receive a transmission, and an identity module having a unique identifier. The programmable communicator further includes a processing module including program code configured to determine if the transmission is from an authenticated caller by determining whether a received transmission contains the unique identifier, and memory configured to store telephone numbers or IP addresses received in transmissions from an authenticated caller.
