摘要: Aspects are disclosed for determining refractive error. In an aspect, a line pattern is displayed to a user, and a distance between the line pattern and the user is ascertained. The line pattern includes a first and second line in which an aspect of the line pattern is varied, and where refractive error is quantified based on the distance and a selected variance of the line pattern. In another aspect, the varied aspect of the line is at least one of a width between the first and second line, a thickness of the first or second line, a darkness of the first line or the second line, or a color of the first line or the second line. An input corresponding to a focused line pattern variance selected by the user is then received, and a refractive error is quantified based on the input and an approximate distance between the line pattern and the user.

摘要: Provided is a scanning laser ophthalmoscope capable of accurately superposing multiple photographed images. The scanning laser ophthalmoscope comprises an image generating unit that generates first images based on the light reflected from first laser light and second images based on the light reflected from second laser light. An associating unit associates the first images and the second images based on the first laser light and the second laser light parallelly scanned by the scanning unit. A displacement calculating unit calculates displacements between images regarding multiple first images. The position matching unit matches the positions of multiple second images based on the processing results from the associating unit and the displacements. The superposing unit superposes the multiple second images that have undergone the position matching. The display unit displays an image obtained by superposing the multiple second images.

摘要: A vision testing device includes a hood having an interior space defining a first side and a second side. A first electronic device is operable to project a first image to the first side and a second electronic device is operable to project a second image to the second side. The first image and the second image comprise computer-generated images. A mirror extends from the first side to the second side and is positioned to reflect the first image and the second image. A first viewing lens is in optical communication with the first side and is configured to receive the first image reflected from the mirror. A second viewing lens is in optical communication with the second side and is configured to receive the second image reflected from the mirror.

摘要: An apparatus, system and method for performing a health correlation assessment based upon results an eye contrast sensitivity measurement test of a person. The health correlation assessment yields a predictive and probabilistic measure of the likelihood of the person appropriately assigned to a particular clinical health classification. Such an eye contrast sensitivity measurement can be used to identify people who are likely to be within a pre-Alzheimer's disease state or within Alzheimer's disease state of health and identify those who should seek further clinical and/or other types of testing to ascertain their actual health status and to determine an appropriate course of medical treatment.

摘要: In one aspect, there is provided a handheld vision tester comprising a display, cursor control, interface port, and camera. The display delivers a series of images making up vision tests to a user who interacts with the vision tests by using the display and cursor control of the handheld vision tester. The camera verifies the user is taking the vision tests. The results of the vision tests are stored in the handheld communication device. The interface port allows for communication of the stored results of the vision tests with external devices. In another aspect, there is provided a calibration system for the handheld vision tester. The calibration system includes a stand to hold the handheld vision tester and a reflective surface substantially parallel to a display of the handheld vision tester.

摘要: A viewing target for a visual acuity and refraction measurement includes at least one line comprising a width dimension that is below a resolution limit width (hereinafter “RLW”) of a test subject visual acuity, and an adjustable length dimension that is initially set at greater than the RLW of the test subject visual acuity. A base, at least approximately intersecting the line, has a thickness along the direction of the length of the line that is greater than the RLW of the test subject visual acuity. The length dimension of the line is adjustable in increments small enough to effectively approximate the visual acuity of the test subject by determining a shortest resolvable line and a next smaller line that is not resolvable by the test subject.

摘要: An adaptor adapts an SLR camera for use as an ophthalmic viewing and imaging device. The adaptor is mounted to the camera between the camera body and the camera lens, and includes optical components arranged to direct illumination of the interior of the eye. The adaptor includes a first light source configured to provide a maximum level of illumination that is sufficient to identify structures of interest within an interior of an eye. The adaptor directs light from a second, external source to provide a level of illumination sufficient to obtain a fundus image. Optical components within the adaptor define a first optical pathway for directing light from the first light source to the lens, a second optical pathway for directing light from the second light source to the camera lens, and a third optical pathway for directing light from the camera lens through the adaptor to the camera.
