    摘要: A rotating jewelry clamp includes a base and a rotatable housing supported thereby such that the housing can be freely rotated relative to the base. The housing threadably receives a clamp assembly with a hollow outer sleeve and a reciprocable piston extending therein. The outer sleeve terminates in an overhanging stationary jaw and the piston includes a movable jaw which mates with the stationary jaw to form a clamp. A lower portion of the piston engages a coil spring within the rotatable housing to urge the piston upward toward the stationary jaw so that jewelry pieces are clamped into position between the movable jaw and the stationary jaw via tension caused by spring action. Insertion and removal of jewelry pieces is accomplished by grasping an insulated handle protruding from the piston and urging the piston downward within the outer sleeve against the spring action, thus separating the movable jaw and stationary jaw.

    摘要: A clamping apparatus for use in clamping a fitting to a pipe or other fitting. The apparatus may be used without supporting the outer surface of the pipe on the opposite side of the fitting, and in the case of a buried pipe, only a portion of the pipe needs to be excavated. The apparatus comprises a clamping plate for engaging an outer surface of the fitting with an adjusting stem threadingly engaged with the clamping plate. A locking bar is pivotally and rotatably attached to an end of the adjusting stem. A weight differential between long and short ends of said locking bar and a cable are used to pivot the locking bar between a first position thereof wherein the locking bar and a portion of the stem may be inserted through aligned openings in the fitting and pipe and a second position. In the second position, the clamping bar may be clampingly engaged with an inner surface of the pipe by rotation of the adjusting stem which also results in the clamping plate being clampingly engaged with an outer surface of the fitting. A lock nut locks the apparatus in the clamping position. The fitting may then be permanently attached to the pipe, such as by an electrofusion process, after which the apparatus may be unclamped and removed. A method of attaching a fitting to a pipe using the apparatus is also disclosed.

    摘要: A new disc brake assembly tool for providing an easy means for positioning a piston into the piston cylinder of a caliper to provided proper clearance so that a disc brake pad may be installed. The inventive device includes a base having an elongate center 1t portion, an arm portion, and a foot portion. The arm and foot portions are extended substantially perpendicular from the center portion and are spaced apart from one another. A mount member is coupled to the terminal end of the arm portion. The mount member has a mount bore extending therethrough. Inserted through the mount bore is a tubular sleeve having a threaded lumen. the sleeve being positionable within the mount bore between an extended position and a retracted position. The proximal end of the sleeve has a radial flange outwardly extending therefrom. An elongate threaded rod is threadingly extended through the threaded lumen of the sleeve with the distal end of the threaded rod extending from the distal end of the sleeve and its proximal end extending from the proximal end of the sleeve. The threaded rod is threaded in the sleeve so that it is expendable towards the foot portion. A second biasing assembly biases the sleeve away from the foot portion. The foot portion has a slot therethrough between its surfaces which extends from the terminal end of the foot portion towards the central portion. The threaded lumen of sleeve is aligned with the slot such that the longitudinal axis of the lumen extends through a portion of the slot so that the proximal end of the threaded rod is extendable through the slot of the foot portion.

    摘要: A molded clip for attaching wire bundles and the like to aircraft stringers is described. The clip has two major parts, each of which has a matching 45.degree. inclined surface. When a vertically aligned bolt that connects the two parts is tightened, the bottom portion of the clip slides upwardly along the matching 45.degree. inclined surface of the top portion of the clip. This movement causes gripping surfaces of the top and bottom portions to engage and secure the clip to a stringer flange. An upstanding boss having a metallic threaded insert for receiving another bolt is used to secure the wire bundle clamp to the clip.

    摘要: An improved bar clamp has a slide bar with a first jaw and a second jaw, the jaws set in opposing relationship along the slide bar. The first jaw may be advanced towards the second jaw by a setting mechanism that is removably attachable to the first jaw. The setting mechanism for advancing the first jaw has a hand lever and hand grip that act in concert upon manual squeezing to step-by-step advance the first jaw. The improved bar clamp also has a jaw comprising a body portion, bent along its length at an obtuse angle, which divides the body portion into an upper portion and a lower portion. A protective pad is attached to the upper portion near the end thereof on the same side of the body portion as the obtuse angle. A slot passes through the lower portion so that the body portion has a normal position on the slide bar with the side of the upper portion having the protective pad thereon forming an angle relative to the slide bar that is slightly less than a right angle, the body portion being slidable on the slide bar when the body portion is in this position. A biasing means attached to the lower portion on the opposite side of the body as the obtuse angle biases the body portion against the slide bar into this position, but the slot is sized to firmly engage the slide bar and to prevent movement of the body portion along the slide bar when the protective pad engages a workpiece in a manner that the engagement increases the angle between the side of the upper portion having the protective pad and the slide bar.
