摘要: Ducting and/or duct couplings can be formed from shape memory polymer material, with the material for example being additively manufactured. The use of shape memory polymer material for one or more of the duct portions may allow for easier installation of the ducting, for example allowing the ducting to be warped and/or bent to fit into or through places that are hard to reach or hard to maneuver through, with the ducting then heated to cause it to return to a predetermined memory shape. The coupling of duct portions together may be accomplished by the duct portions including a shape memory polymer material, with for example ends of the duct portions fitted together, and then heated to use a shape memory property of the material to effect coupling. Heating of the shape memory polymer material also softens the material, allowing it to move to a previously set shape.

摘要: The invention provides improvements to electrofusion fitting methods that allow for continuity and repeatability of welds between an electrofusion fitting and a pipe lining (or stand-alone pipe). An electrofusion fitting for joining sections of lined pipe has heating elements configured to create at least one weld between the electrofusion fitting and a pipe lining, however prior to the weld step taking place the electrofusion fitting is heated and expands accordingly to ensure contact with the pipe lining. Preheating the electrofusion fitting also provides a predetermined starting temperature for the fitting and the lining which results in improved fusion cycle reliability. Furthermore, the need for clamps or support frames to support the electrofusion fitting in situ is removed, with corresponding reductions in cycle times, complexity, and hence cost.

摘要: Method for testing and/or for pressure testing the tightness of the joints of the transfer piping of a pneumatic pipe transport system for waste, in which method the pipe section to be tested is separated inside the pipe from the other piping and pressure medium is conducted into the section, and leaks and/or the pressure of the pressure medium are monitored on the section of pipe to be tested. In the method a device is taken inside the piping, which device comprises a first wall part (21), which comprises first sealing means (31), and a second wall part (22), which comprises second sealing means (33), in which case the pipe section to be tested, more particularly the point of connection, remains between the first wall part (21) and the second wall part (22), in which case the sealing means (31) of the first wall part are brought to be tighter to the inside surface (14) of the pipe and the sealing means (33) of the second wall part (22) are brought to be tighter to the inside surface (15) of the pipe, and pressure medium is brought into the chamber space (23) bounded by the first wall part (21) and the second wall part (22) as well as by the inside surface of the pipe section, and the pressure or a change of pressure is measured or a possible sealing defect of the pipe section is otherwise indicated.
