摘要: A control apparatus performs a diagnosis process for determining whether or not catalyst warm-up control is abnormal by determining whether or not an ignition timing that is set during the performance of catalyst warm-up control is a timing advanced by a threshold or more. The threshold is a value that is set to a timing more advanced than the ignition timing that is set during the performance of catalyst warm-up control by a predetermined margin. The control apparatus performs a setting process for setting the threshold based on a start-up coolant temperature such that the margin becomes larger when the start-up coolant temperature is low than when the start-up coolant temperature is high.

摘要: If an internal combustion engine that has been automatically stopped is to be restarted under a decreased engine speed, a control unit of the internal combustion engine starts cranking when a crank angle of a cylinder in compression stroke of the internal combustion engine is closer to bottom dead center than a threshold value set in advance. More specifically, if an engine speed of the internal combustion engine is in forward rotation, the cranking is begun when the crank angle of the cylinder in compression stroke is closer to the bottom dead center than a threshold value set in advance. If the engine speed of the internal combustion engine is in backward rotation, the cranking is begun when the crank angle of the cylinder in compression stroke is closer to the bottom dead center than another threshold value set in advance.

摘要: A vehicular collision mitigation method includes disposing at a vehicle a plurality of cameras, at least two non-camera sensors, and a control that processes data captured by the cameras and non-camera sensors. When the equipped vehicle is traveling forward, and via processing at the control of provided data captured by the forward viewing camera and the at least two non-camera sensors, it is determined if the vehicle is approaching a pedestrian or other vehicle forward of the vehicle. Responsive to such determination, braking by an automatic emergency braking system is controlled to mitigate collision with the pedestrian or other vehicle. Responsive to determination that a following vehicle is following the vehicle within a threshold distance from the vehicle and is approaching the vehicle above a threshold rate of approach, braking by the automatic emergency braking system is adjusted to mitigate collision at the rear of the vehicle by the following vehicle.

摘要: A control device for an internal combustion engine keeping down an increase in combustion noise at the time of a cold state, provided with a combustion control part successively performing at least pre-fuel injection, first main fuel injection, and second main fuel injection to perform premix charged compressive ignition so that heat is generated inside the combustion chamber in stages a plurality of times, the combustion control part comprising a target value setting part setting target injection amounts and target injection timings of the pre-fuel injection, first main fuel injection, and second main fuel injection and a correction part performing correction to make the target injection amount of the pre-fuel injection increase and make the target injection amount of the second main injection decrease when the temperature of the engine body or the temperature of a parameter with a correlative relationship with the temperature of the engine body becomes a predetermined temperature or less.

摘要: An internal combustion engine comprising at least one turbo charger, which comprises a compressor, at least one bypass valve, through which the compressor can be bypassed by at least a partial stream of air or an air-fuel mixture, and a control unit is provided. The control unit is configured to open or closed loop control the bypass valve. As such, the control unit is configured to at least partially open the at least one bypass valve and keep the at least one bypass valve open during a start of the internal combustion engine. The control unit is also configured to keep the at least one bypass valve open until an engine parameter of the internal combustion engine satisfies a predetermined startup criterion.

摘要: A system for reducing polluting emissions of diesel engines includes a hydrogen gas generator that mixes the hydrogen gas with diesel fuel during certain operations phases of the engine. A default program mixes no hydrogen gas with the diesel fuel. A first operational program, during a cold start, mixes the hydrogen gas and diesel fuel in a 1:1 ratio. A second operational program, during a stabilization phase, mixes the hydrogen gas and diesel fuel in a 1:3 ratio. A third operational program, during a hot start phase, mixes the hydrogen gas and diesel fuel in a 1:2 ratio.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing a cylinder valve deactivation mechanism in an engine system having cam-actuated valves. Movement of a latch pin of the deactivation mechanism is inferred from an induction current generated by a solenoid coupled to the latch pin, and the inferred movement is used to diagnose operation of cylinder valve deactivation mechanism. The inferred movement and a profile of the induction current is also used to estimate camshaft and crankshaft timing for improved cylinder fuel delivery in the absence of a camshaft sensor.
