Abstract:
A magnetic tape cassette for use in an apparatus having a light source (P) and a light sensor (S1, S2) for detecting a tape end by the difference of light transmittance of a tape (T). The magnetic tape cassette (AA, BB, CC) is composed of a light-shielding member (a through r) crossing a light path (L1, L2) for detecting the tape end by the difference of light transmittance of the magnetic layer portion and the leader portion to keep the light transmittance within the predetermined value even the tape (T) is thinner and has a higher light transmittance.
Abstract:
A neck portion (3) formed in the subterminal portion of the narrower diameter side of the funnel shaped separator, has holding portions (32a, 32b) and upper holding portion (33a, 33b) to hold magnetic rings (10, 11, 20, 21). The protrusions (80a, 80b) formed in the neck portion (3) have slope side (80a1, 80b1). Upon the insertion of the magnetic rings (10, 11, 20, 21) to the neck portion (3) from the narrower diameter side thereof, the magnetic rings (10, 11, 20, 21) contact the slope sides (80a1, 80b1) before they contact the slope sides (33a2, 33b2) of the protrusions (33a0, 33b0) of the upper holding portion (33a, 33b).
Abstract:
A digital memory card includes a first area for storing a first file set having a set of audio objects and a second area for storing a second file set including a set of sound objects. A managing area is provided in the second file set and includes data for managing the first and the second file sets. Another memory card includes a first area for storing a set of sound files having a managing area, a second area for storing a still picture file and a third area for storing a motion picture file. The managing area stores data for managing the still picture and the motion picture files separately or together. The first and second file sets and the still picture and the motion picture files can be reproduced by a reproduction apparatus. Tune information is embedded in tune data as a digital watermark, the tune information being peculiar to the tune data. The tune information is further recorded in a file provided other than the tune data. The tune data with the embedded tune information and the file with the recorded tune information are distributed. The tune data is reproduced only when the tune information in the tune data and the file match each other.

Abstract:
A signal level displaying apparatus comprises circuits for carrying out time division of input signals of multiple channels, a plurality of level selection circuits having respectively different threshold values and operating to produce outputs in accordance with the levels of the signals thus time divided, and a display part having level electrode parts which are connected respectively to the level selection circuits and disposed on one display screen, and which cause luminescent display to be carried out in accordance with the outputs of the level selection circuits. This signal level display apparatus further has a circuit part for displaying the real time levels of signals and a circuit part for storing and displaying maximum levels.
Abstract:
An automatic telephone answering apparatus has a circuit for generating repeated signals of a specific duty factor in response to the arrival of a call signal and a circuit operating when it has received a predetermined number of the output repeated signals of the first circuits to cause answering means to begin transmitting an answering message, the apparatus thus starting answering operation always after elapse of a predetermined time from the instant of arrival of the call signal irrespective of the kind of the duty factor of the call signal. Furthermore, the apparatus is so adapted that the answering operation is not started when the receiver of the telephone set of the called party is lifted off its cradle before the above mentioned specific number of repeated signals are received.
Abstract:
Improvement is made in a known automatic mechanism provided for automatic pickup arm returning or for automatic record disk changing. In order to perform the known automatic operation, a single complete revolution of a gear is utilized. The gear engages a driving pinion, which rotates with a turntable, after completion of play to effect rotation of the gear for one revolution. The intention of the present invention is to ensure this engagement between the driving pinion and the gear by providing a frictional member between a pair of pawls which effect engagement of the gear. The frictional member is sheetlike and has one uneven surface to prevent excessively high frictional forces and seizure between the pawls and to reduce variations in the coefficient of friction.
Abstract:
A reel drive disc device has a sliding friction clutch for transmitting output power, at constant rotational speed and with a desired torque, to a reel-supporting disc which is rotated at a speed that varies in accordance with the diameter of the tape roll wound thereon. This sliding friction clutch operates responsive to a pressing together of a felt friction member and a member made of a highly wear-resistant resin such as a polyethylene terephthalate resin. Its power transmitting torque is maintained substantially constant over a long period.
Abstract:
A variable impedance circuit comprises a transistor for varying impedance, a resistor connected between the collector and base of the transistor, a diode connected to the base of the transistor with a polarity opposite that of an equivalent diode between the base and emitter of the transistor, and a variable voltage source for control connected to the diode and operating to vary voltage. The impedance between the collector and ground of the transistor is varied with excellent linearity in accordance with the value of the voltage of the variable voltage source.
