Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for mitigation of secondary cell failures. A user equipment (UE) may establish communication with a macro cellular base station. The UE may perform a signal quality measurement of a small cell base station and compare the signal quality measurement to a threshold. Based on the signal quality measurement exceeding the threshold, the UE may attempt to additionally connect to the small cell base station. In response to a radio link failure of the second base station, the UE may modify the first threshold. In response to subsequent failures to additionally connect to the small cell base station using the modified first threshold, the UE may disable connections to the small cell base station.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for network assisted side-link resource configuration for unicast and/or multi-cast/groupcast communications in V2X networks. A UE may, after establishing an RRC connection with a base station, transmit, to the base station, V2X connection information. The V2X connection information may include a V2X identifier associated with the UE and a V2X identifier associated with a target UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, a side-link configuration for data transmission with the target UE. The side-link configuration may include a resource allocation defined in time and frequency (e.g., a transmit/receive pool). The UE may communicate with the target UE using the resource allocation included in the side-link configuration.

Abstract: Multi-hop configurations in integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) networks are provided for reduced latency. For modifications to a backhaul adaptation protocol (BAP) header supports faster data radio bearer (DRB) transmissions. Or, for both signaling radio bearer (SRB) and DRB flows, configuration forwarding may be used to reduce configuration latency wherein a single RRCReconfiguration message is forwarded to intermediate nodes that process the configuration and respond back independently. Alternatively, for both SRB and DRB flows, configuration multi-casting may be used for simultaneous IAB node and backup configurations. Methods are provided for fast activation of backup links in IAB nodes.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes first and second subscriber identity modules (SIMs), possibly subscribed to different carriers. When the first SIM is in a connected state and the second SIM is in an idle state, the UE may need to periodically tune away a radio from a first frequency used for communication under the first SIM to a second frequency used for idle mode activity under the second SIM. The UE may provide to the network of the first SIM the second SIMs traffic activity pattern and/or serving frequency so that the network may provide coordinated configuration and/or scheduling for the UE device, e.g., in order to make the action of tuning away (and tuning back) the radio more efficient and/or to decrease the network impact of such radio tune aways (e.g., to decrease wasted uplink scheduling and wasted downlink transmissions for the first SIM).
