Abstract:
A filter bypass valve is disposed in parallel with an aircraft cabin air filtration system air filter. During normal operation, air is filtered through the air filter at an air flow that meets air flow requirements of the system. The bypass valve is designed to remain closed during normal use, and to open if the differential pressure across the air filter reaches a predetermined opening differential pressure to allow airflow to be partially or fully diverted around the air filter.
Abstract:
A power tool motor pack that includes common components adapted to couple to a first component customized for a first power tool application and to couple to a second component customized for a second power tool application. When the motor pack is used in the first power tool application, the common components are coupled to the first customized component. When the motor pack is used in the second power tool application, the common components are coupled to the second customized component.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a lounge valve mounting housing and assembly. The housing and assembly are useful for directing air through ducts, and particularly the assembly is useful for directing air, or other fluid, through Y-shaped junctions. The housing comprises in part a plate and a supported platform. The plate mounts to a duct. An actuator assembly can be affixed to the platform. The housing further includes a cylinder; a shaft is disposed within the cylinder and extends into the duct. A flapper affixed to the shaft can direct air depending on the radial position of the shaft. The housing and assembly offers weight and capital advantages over dual valve assemblies.
Abstract:
A method and system for debugging an executing service on a pipelined CPU architecture are described. In one embodiment, a breakpoint within an executing service is set and a minimum state of the executing service is saved. In addition, a program counter of the executing service is altered. The program counter is restored and the state of the executing service is restored.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid fragment encoding a geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase. The invention also relates to the construction of a chimeric gene encoding all or a portion of the geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase, in sense or antisense orientation, wherein expression of the chimeric gene results in production of altered levels of the geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase in a transformed host cell.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method, apparatus, and computer instructions for testing compatibility of software versions, the method comprising the computer implemented steps of performing an inventory on an existing set of software modules resident in the data processing system responsive to an installation of a new software module in a data processing system; referring to a knowledge base of versions of respective software modules to determine whether the new software module is compatible with the existing set of software modules; and testing the new software module in a test data processing system in combination with the existing set of software modules in response to a negative determination.
Abstract:
An improved barstar gene and improved barstar protein can be used to neutralize the activity of a barnase in eukaryotic cells, particular in plant cells. The improved barstar gene can be used to produce fertility restorer plants capable of restoring the fertility to a line of male-sterile plants that contain in the nuclear genome of their cells a chimeric gene comprising a stamen-selective promoter and a DNA coding for a barnase. Restorer plants containing the barstar gene in the restorer plant's nuclear genome is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A system in accordance with the invention provides a chipset for use generally in a PC-type system and that includes a plurality of programmable I/O (PIO) pins. Each of the PIO pins can be programmed to carry signals in accordance with any function in a function pool. In one embodiment, the number of PIO pins total 32 and the number of functions total 70. Such programmability allows a single-chip chipset to be vendor platform-generic while simultaneously minimizing pin count.
