Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a plurality of master information blocks (MIBs) on a narrowband physical broadcast channel (NPBCH). The UE may determine an NPBCH signal power based at least in part on the plurality of MIBs. The UE may estimate a narrowband reference signal received power (NRSRP) parameter based at least in part on the NPBCH signal power. In some aspects, a base station may determine whether to enable or disable NPBCH-based estimates of an NRSRP parameter for a UE. The base station may transmit, to the UE, an indication of whether NPBCH-based estimates of the NRSRP parameter are enabled or disabled for the UE based at least in part on the determination. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, devices may implement carrier aggregation and shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs) for downlink transmissions. To improve downlink throughput with a reduced feedback latency, the system may implement a modified hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) timeline. For example, a base station may configure a first component carrier with a TTI or sTTI for downlink that is longer than an sTTI for a second uplink component carrier. The base station and a user equipment (UE) may operate using a HARQ timing for the first component carrier that is based on the shorter sTTI for the second component carrier. The base station may transmit a downlink transmission using the longer TTI or sTTI for greater carrier aggregation, and the UE may send a downlink HARQ acknowledgment (ACK) message in response according to the HARQ timing for reduced latency.

Abstract: Certain example embodiments of the present disclosure provide techniques for joint transmission of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS) from multiple transmission points (TPs) for channel state feedback and/or TP selection. An example method generally includes coordinating with one or more other TPs to jointly transmit a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) to a user equipment (UE); signaling a reporting restriction to the UE; receiving precoding matrix indicator (PMI) feedback from the UE based on the jointly transmitted CSI-RS and subject to the reporting restriction; and selecting one or more of the TPs to serve based on the PMI feedback.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for mapping, by a UE, uplink transmissions to one or more antennas of the UE. In one aspect, a UE may receive an uplink resource allocation identifying a set of resource blocks (RBs) from a base station. The UE may map subsets of the set of RBs to one or more of a plurality of antennas of the UE and transmit one or more uplink transmissions, using the subsets of the set of resource blocks, on the one or more antennas based at least in part on the mapping. Additionally, in some aspects, the UE may determine channel characteristics or CSI associated with the downlink from the base station and base the mapping of subsets of RBs to one or more antennas of the UE on the determined channel characteristics/CSI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for adaptively or dynamically tuning a radio frequency (RF) local oscillator (LO) for wireless communications. In one example, a radio may receive an RF signal and the LO of a radio may be tuned to a frequency that is an offset from its reception (RX) center frequency to deal with interference from another signal, such as one being transmitted using a different radio access technology (RAT) than that of the radio. The offset may be determined based upon an effect of the tuning on an attribute of the RF signal. In addition, the offset may be determined based on interference caused by the other signal.
