A liquid filter system incorporating the liquid filter element and methods for fabricating the improved liquid filter element are also disclosed.

The area of one of the end caps radially outwardly of its circular sleeve is greater than the corresponding area of the other end cap to cause fluid to be filtered to pressure bias the filter cartridge toward the other end cap and to positionally retain the filter cartridge within its housing. A positioning member extending into the filter element from one of the end caps receives and stabilizes sleeve for a u/v lamp disposed within the filter element to kill any microorganisms present and to oxidize any organic matter subjected to the emitted ultra-violent radiation.

    摘要: A filter element assembly has at least two cylindrically shaped and concentrically arranged filter media sleeves each connected at one end thereof to an inlet plate and each connected at the other end to a closed end terminal plate. Openings are provided in the inlet plate to permit entry of liquid to be filtered into the annular space between the filter sleeves. The closed end terminal plate prevents flow of unfiltered liquid from the annular space between the sleeves so as to force the liquid through the porous media of the sleeves to effect filtration. The inlet plate includes a central area that is recessed in relation to its outer edge to define an inlet chamber capped by a planar housing lid. The inlet chamber communicates with the inlet conduit via an opening in the central area.

At least one screen cartridge is oriented in a generally angular downward direction in the bed and is in communication with an effluent chamber defined in part by the outer surface of the central pipe. A reject line extends from the washbox, and an effluent collector extends from the effluent chamber. A method of filtering and cleaning the filtration material is also disclosed.

    摘要: A fluid filter assembly having a relief valve for visually indicating [the life of] when a filter element may be replaced. The fluid filter assembly of the present invention provides a vertical, transparent housing having a fluid inlet for communicating a fluid into the housing and a fluid outlet for communicating fluid downstream of said housing. A filter element is disposed within the housing between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet for filtering the fluid. In [the preferred] a first embodiment, a [frusto-conical] divider is connected to the top of the filter element and extends downward adjacent a bottom portion of the filter element wherein the fluid from the inlet rises between the filter element and the inside of the divider and between the outside of the divider and an inside surface of the housing. A relief valve is provided in the top of the filter element and is in communication with the unfiltered and filtered side of the filter element. The relief valve opens at a predetermined pressure level across the filter element thereby raising the fluid level and providing a practical [visual] indicator that the filter element may be replaced [needs replacement].
