Abstract:
After a digital multi-function peripheral establishes a connection with a mobile phone once, it rejects connection establishment requests made to a wireless communication section by other devices. Moreover, after a connection is established with a mobile phone once, the digital multi-function peripheral stops sending of the address of the wireless communication section through a reader/writer. After completing the sending/receiving of data, the digital multi-function peripheral and the mobile phone delete the addresses of their partner devices stored in them, respectively, for use in sending/receiving data.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is to provide an image processing device having a sub-system performing a power saving control to support the use of a USB device or provided to allow the supporting of the use of a USB device, in which operational mismatching which may occur at a start of a the power saving mode between the USB device and a USB device driver provided in the main system of the image processing device can be effectively suppressed. A state of the USB device driver before the mode of the image processing device is changed to the power saving mode is held, and, when the state of the USB device acquired after the mode of the image processing device returns from the power saving mode differs from the held state of the USB device driver, an estimated state-transition sequence for changing a state of the USB device driver is determined by an ACPI driver based on a result of comparison of the held state of the USB device driver and the acquired state of the USB device, thereby changing the state of the USB device driver according to the estimated state-transition sequence.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a storage unit for storing user information correlating user identification information and acknowledger information in advance; an image file acquiring unit for acquiring the image file; and a control unit for controlling a writing process in a detachable storage medium. The control unit includes a registration processing unit for correlating the user identification information and authentication information contained in an acknowledgement notice, and for registering the user identification information and the authentication information as acknowledgement information in the storage unit. The control unit further includes a determining unit for determining whether the user identification information and the authentication information received through an input unit are registered in the acknowledgement information, and for allowing the image file stored in the storage unit to be written in the detachable storage medium when the authentication notice is authenticated.
Abstract:
A multi-function apparatus having a wider variety of uses and easily employed when carrying a USB cable only without having a power source cord. The apparatus includes means for detecting a connection between the USB interface and the PC, means for detecting a connection to the power line, and control means for selecting a function depending on a detected state of the connection between the USB interface and PC and a detected state of the connection to the AC power line. All the functions in the multi-function apparatus are operable in a connected state of the AC power line to the AC power source, while even in an unconnected state of the AC power line to the AC power source, if the USB interface is connected to the PC, a possible operation is enabled using electric power of 5 V at 500 mA supplied from the PC.
Abstract:
A content transmission device (11) transmits communications data by infrared. The content transmission device (11) includes: a one-way communications section (48) for transmitting the communications data by one-way communications; a two-way communications section (49) for transmitting the communications data by two-way communications; and a control section (40) for selecting which of the one-way communications section (48) and the two-way communications section (49) transmits the communications data.
Abstract:
A communication system includes an image pickup device and an information processing apparatus. The image pickup device is connectable to a printer, and the information processing apparatus is connectable to a server device. The image pickup device includes an acquiring unit that acquires printer information indicating information on the printer if the image pickup device is connected to the printer and a transmitting unit that transmits the printer information acquired by the acquiring unit to the information processing apparatus if the image pickup device is connected to the information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus also includes a display control unit that displays, on a display unit, an indication that the printer indicated by the printer information can be registered with the server device, based upon the printer information transmitted from the transmitting unit.
Abstract:
A bifurcated interface for integrated use in a fax-to-email system provides an alternative or additional method for command entry a fax-to-email system preferably through a remote, commercially available, personal digital assistant or like device modified by software to perform the command entry functions. Delivery of commands, and other data, from the PDA is made, preferably, via infrared signals, but, alternatively, by direct cable syncing and other techniques. Thus, the interface is bifurcated having a portable traveler portion and a host portion in a more permanent connection with the fax function of the fax-to-email system. The PDA functions as the interface traveler portion, and becomes (at least temporarily) a specially programmed data entry tool with command communicating ability and a protocol shared by (or matched to) the interface host portion. The system can also be used in cooperation with Internet Web service for reporting, accounting, information services, and user interaction.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus and method of printing an image in the image forming apparatus connected to an image storage device, the method including: selecting at least one image stored in the image storage device; setting up print options with regard to the selected at least one image; starting a transmission of image data corresponding to the selected at least one image from the image storage device to the image forming apparatus before the setting up of the print options is completed; and printing the image data according to the setup print options.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a reading unit, a printing unit, a control unit configured to control a reading job for causing the reading unit to execute reading processing and a printing job for causing the printing unit to execute print processing, and a setting unit configured to perform setting as to whether to permit execution of a second job while a first job is in execution, wherein the first job is one of the reading job and the printing job, and the second job is the other of the reading job and the printing job. The control unit controls the reading job and the printing job based on the setting performed by the setting unit.
