    摘要: A injection molded part of thermoplastic material, in particular an information carrier disk, is produced by cutting and removal of a sprue part from the injection molded part. The sprue removal leaves an opening in the injection molded part. In order to obtain a clean and smooth opening surface with a fit diameter that is as accurate as possible, the sprue part is axially offset relative to the injection molded part so that the integral connection between these two parts extends only over a part of the opening. The diameter of the axially projecting part is equal to or larger than the diameter of the opening and the rest of the opening being produced by injection molding. The dimensions are advantageously chosen so that a parting edge inclined at an angle of 45.degree. to the plane of the opening is formed and that the injection molded part amounts to 70% and the part to be separated to 30% of the length of the open. The injection molded length of the opening may also be variable. The sprue part may be cut from the injection molded part and removed, either in the closed or open state of the injection molding tool.

    摘要: Method and apparatus are disclosed for making multi-turned plastic springs. At least 2 mold sections forming a central opening and a cavity with many turns are placed around a hollow sleeve having sufficient opening to flow molten plastic to individual turns. After the plastic solidifies the sleeve is moved with respect to the mold sections to shear a spring that has formed in the cavity from a plastic core in the sleeve. The mold sections are then opened and the spring is removed.

    摘要: A transparent thin bottle-shaped container is produced by means of a technology for biaxial orientation blow molding a cylindrical piece with a bottom from polyethylene terephthalate material. The pieces are molded in large number in each injection molding process of an injection molding machine. The pieces thus formed immediately after the injection molding are held simultaneously in large number at the gates integrally projected therefrom by a base plate moved forward at the front of the mold in the injection molding machine. They are then conveyed to a gate cutting unit provided near the injection molding machine. The gates are cut from the pieces sequentially by the gate cutting unit and are conveyed onto a conveyor. The pieces are gradually cooled from the hot molded temperature during the conveyance and are additionally cooled while being conveyed on an oblique conveyor installed with a cooler to room temperature or lower predetermined temperature. The cooled pieces are then supplied to a heater immediately before entering a biaxial orientation blow molding process.

    摘要: Apparatus for making a molded plastic roller with embedded bearings. The roller is formed directly on a bearing or the like by injecting plastic into a mold by way of an umbrella sprue. The tool parts are arranged so that the shearing surface, formed after shearing off of the sprue residue when the mold is opened, is located on the outer surface of the inner collar portion. The molding tool comprises two tool parts for forming the outer surfaces of the rolling body, at least one tool part having a molding portion for forming an annular recess in the roller, and a cylindrical tool part inserted in the bearing, or the like and having a mushroom-shaped head. A back taper of the molding portion for forming the annular recess and the edge of the head together define an annular clearance through which plastic material is injected. The head has a planar surface which covers the bearing or the like and serves as the molding surface for the sides of the inner collar portion, and a spherical surface for defining the umbrella sprue.

    摘要: This relates to an apparatus for injection molding preforms for beverage bottles wherein a minimum cycle time is involved. Cores over which thermoplastic material is injection molded to form preforms for use in the blow molding of bottles are provided in sets and carried by a rotary turret so that as soon as the injection molded thermoplastic material has sufficiently set to permit its transfer with its associated core out of an injection mold cavity, the apparatus may be actuated to remove first injection molded preforms and thereafter immediately present a new set of cores to the injection mold cavities. This provides ample time for the cooling of the preforms so that when removed from the cores they will not be unduly deformed. In accordance with the feasible use of the apparatus, plural preforms, on the order of twenty-four and greater, may be formed with a cycle time on the order of 10-12 seconds.

    摘要: A hot sprue valve assembly is provided for controlling flow of molten material through a hot sprue bushing of an injection molding machine. The valve assembly is particularly designed for use with an injection molding machine for molding centrally apertured record discs, such as video information discs, and the valve assembly includes means for forming the central aperture in the disc. In one embodiment, the aperture-forming means comprises a sleeve valve for molding the aperture in the disc prior to solidification of the disc-forming melt, whereas in another embodiment the aperture-forming means comprises a punch for punching the aperture subsequent to solidification of the disc-forming melt.
