    Abstract: In a method and apparatus for accelerating MR temperature imaging used in MR-monitored high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy, temperature changes are determined at the focus of the ultrasound during MR temperature imaging; determining the ideal acceleration rate needed for data sampling according to the temperature changes at said focus is determined, the variable-density (VD) data sampling in k-space is adjusted according to the determined ideal acceleration rate, and the data obtained from sampling are reconstructed to form an image. The capability of accelerating MR temperature imaging with both good temporal resolution and good spatial resolution is improved by determining the acceleration rate according to temperature changes at the ultrasound focus and by adjusting the VD data sampling of k-space and thereby the benefits of good flexibility, feasibility and stability are achieved.

    Abstract: A sliding window based data estimation is performed. An error is introduced in the data estimation due to the communication model modeling the relationship between the transmitted and received signals. To compensate for an error in the estimated data, the data that was estimated in a previous sliding window step or terms that would otherwise be truncated as noise are used. These techniques allow for the data to be truncated prior to further processing reducing the data of the window.

    Abstract: The invention generally provides a method for routing data into and out of a network having a plurality of host computers corresponding to a plurality of network topologies. The method of the invention primarily comprises the steps of electing a destination host from the plurality of host computers in the network, determining an addressing methodology for the destination host in accordance with a destination topology out of the plurality of network topologies corresponding to the destination host, addressing the destination host according to the determined addressing methodology, determining a routing path corresponding to the determined addressing methodology, and routing the data to the destination host through the determined routing path. The routing path can be an inbound or an outbound routing path with respect to the network. The method according to the invention further comprises the step of defining the routing path with a host ID comprising a sequence of at least one host address corresponding to at least one of the plurality of host computers.

    Abstract: A computer based system and method of visualizing a region using multiple image data sets is provided. The method includes acquiring first volumetric image data of a region and acquiring at least second volumetric image data of the region. The first image data is generally selected such that the structural features of the region are readily visualized. At least one control point is determined in the region using an identifiable structural characteristic discernable in the first volumetric image data. The at least one control point is also located in the at least second image data of the region such that the first image data and the at least second image data can be registered to one another using the at least one control point. Once the image data sets are registered, the registered first image data and at least second image data can be fused into a common display data set. The multiple image data sets have different and complimentary information to differentiate the structures and the functions in the region such that image segmentation algorithms and user interactive editing tools can be applied to obtain 3d spatial relations of the components in the region. Methods to correct spatial inhomogeneity in MR image data is also provided.

    Abstract: A receiver which suppresses inter-cluster multipath interference by processing an impulse channel response consisting of two multipath clusters, each cluster having groups of signals with multiple delays. In one embodiment, the receiver includes a single antenna and parallel-connected delay units used to align the groups of signals before being input into respective sliding window equalizers. The outputs of the equalizers are combined at chip level via a combiner which provides a single output. In another embodiment, a cluster multipath interference suppression (CMIS) circuit is incorporated into the receiver. The CMIS circuit includes a hard decision unit and a plurality of signal regeneration units to generate replicas of the multipath clusters. The replicas are subtracted from the respective outputs of the delay units and the results are input to the respective sliding window equalizers. In another embodiment, multiple antennas are used to receive and process the clusters.
