Abstract: The present invention relates to expression vectors and methods for enhancing soluble expression and secretion of a heterologous protein, particularly a bulky folded active heterologous protein which has one or more transmembrane-like domains or intramolecular disulfide bonds by linking a leader peptide with acidic or basic pI and high hydrophilicity thereto; by substituting one or more amino acids within N-terminal of the heterologous protein with ones having acidic or neutral pI and high hydrophilicity; or reducing elevating GRNA value of a polynucleotide encoding the leader peptide having basic pI value and high hydrophilicity. The expression vector and the method may be used to produce of heterologous protein and to transduce of therapeutic proteins in a patient by preventing formation of insoluble inclusion body and by enhancing secretional efficiency of the heterologous protein into the periplasm or outside cell.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an image processing method and apparatus for detecting the lines of images and the start and end points of the lines. The image processing apparatus includes an edge creation unit, a Hough transform unit, and an effective parameter detection unit. The edge creation unit creates an edge image using external image data input from the outside. The Hough transform unit performs a Hough transform on information about the pixel coordinates of the edge image created by the edge creation unit. The effective parameter detection unit detects the lines of the edge image by checking effective line parameters using the results of the Hough transform. The image processing apparatus may further include an edge list for storing coordinates of effective pixels constituting the edge image and a line parameter list for storing the effective line parameters.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and an apparatus to identify alpha-emitting radionuclides and to measure absolute alpha radioactivity using a low temperature detector. A 4π metallic absorber which encloses a radioactive material containing alpha-emitting radionuclides absorbs the total alpha decay energy in the form of thermal energy. The corresponding temperature changes are measured by a low temperature detector attached to the 4π absorber with high energy resolution. The identification of alpha-emitting radionuclides is declared by comparing the measured temperature signal with characteristic decay energy of radionuclides. The absolute amount of the radionuclides is determined by counting the number of the pulses for each of the identified nuclides.
