Abstract:
An electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface, a display, and tactile output generator(s) displays a user interface including a moveable component representing a plurality of selectable options. The device detects a scroll input directed to the moveable component including movement of a contact followed by a lift-off. In response to detecting the scroll input: the device moves the moveable component through moving a first selectable option and a second selectable option, where the movement of the moveable component gradually slows down after the lift-off of the contact. As the first moveable component moves through the first selectable option with a speed: the device generates a tactile output and an audio output. As the moveable component moves through the second selectable option with a slower speed: the device generates a different tactile output in a first property but is the same in a second property and generates a different audio output.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays a messaging user interface on a display, the messaging user interface including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a keyboard, a message-input area, and a digital image affordance. While displaying the messaging user interface, the device detects an input that activates the digital image affordance. In response, the device replaces display of the keyboard with display of a plurality of digital images, the plurality of digital images including one or more digital images stored in memory and a live preview image from a digital camera. The device detects an input that selects the live image displayed within the plurality of digital images. In response, the device captures a digital image with the digital camera, while maintaining display of the conversation transcript.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays a messaging user interface of a messaging application on the display, the messaging user interface including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a message-input area, and an icon for an interactive application that is displayed within the conversation transcript. While displaying the messaging user interface, the device detects an input that activates the icon for the interactive application; in response to detecting the input that activates the icon for the interactive application, the device displays a user interface for the interactive application in a first state. While displaying the user interface for the interactive application, the device detects a first user input within the user interface for the interactive application; and, in response to detecting the first user input within the user interface for the interactive application: the device changes display of the user interface for the interactive application from the first state to a second state, and sends information, to the one or more electronic devices that correspond to the at least one other user included in the messaging session, indicating that the first user input was made in the user interface for the interactive application, wherein the one or more electronic devices display an indicia of the first user input.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays a messaging user interface of a messaging application on the display, the messaging user interface including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a first message-input area, and a launch icon for an interactive application. While displaying the messaging user interface, the device detects an input that activates the launch icon for the interactive application. In response to detecting the input that activates the launch icon for the interactive application, the device displays a user interface for the interactive application, the interactive application user interface including a second message-input area that is distinct from the first message-input area. While displaying the interactive application user interface, the device detects input of a first message in the second message-input area. In response to detecting the input of the first message in the second message-input area, the device displays the first message in the second message-input area. While displaying the first message in the second message-input area, the device detects an input that corresponds to a request to post the contents of the second message-input area to the messaging session; and, in response to detecting the input that corresponds to the request to post the contents of the second message-input area to the messaging session, the device transmits the first message to one or more electronic devices that correspond to the at least one other user included in the messaging session, wherein the one or more electronic devices display the first message in a conversation transcript corresponding to the messaging session.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays a representative image. The representative image is one image in a sequence of images that includes images acquired after the representative image. While displaying the representative image, the device detects a contact with a first intensity. In response to detecting the contact, the device advances through the images acquired after the representative image at a rate based on the first intensity. When the device detects a decrease in intensity of the contact to a second intensity that is less than the first intensity, the device either continues to advance through the one or more images at a slower rate or reverses direction, depending at least in part on the second intensity relative to a threshold intensity.
Abstract:
One or more location-based clients can be activated on a mobile device for providing location-based services. The location-based clients can be provided with information (e.g., presets, defaults) related to the current location and/or mode of the mobile device. The information can be obtained from one or more network resources. In some implementations, a number of location-based clients can run concurrently on the mobile device and share information.
Abstract:
A media channel can include a mix of media items and invitational content items. At some point during the playback of the media channel an invitational content item can be presented. In some cases, the invitational content items eligible for presentation can be of differing types, such as video and audio. In can be advantageous to restrict presentation of video invitational content items to times when a user is likely to view the screen of the client device during playback of the invitational content item. To accomplish this one or more heuristics or rules can be applied to client device data to predict a user attention level. The user attention level can then be correlated to an invitational content item type, which can then be used to select an invitational content item for playback.
Abstract:
Techniques and systems for centralized access to multimedia content stored on or available to a computing device are disclosed. The centralized access can be provided by a media control interface that receives user inputs and interacts with media programs resident on the computing device to produce graphical user interfaces that can be presented on a display device.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for multitasking using touch-sensitive devices are disclosed herein. In one aspect, a method includes: displaying, on a touch-sensitive display (“TSD”) of a device, first and second applications such that the first and second applications occupy substantially all of the TSD and are separated at a border between the first and second applications. The method further includes: detecting a swipe gesture at the second application, the swipe gesture moving in a direction that is substantially parallel to the border. In response to detecting the swipe gesture, the method includes: determining whether the swipe gesture satisfies a threshold. Upon determining that the swipe gesture satisfies the threshold, the method includes: replacing the second application with an application selector that includes a plurality of selectable affordances corresponding to applications available on the device, the application selector being displayed in an area of the TSD previously occupied by the second application.
