Abstract: A method and system for determining fluid contamination. The method may comprise monitoring a fluid sample, wherein the fluid sample comprises a reservoir fluid contaminated with a well fluid, and obtaining input parameters, wherein the input parameters comprise fluid properties obtained from measurement of the fluid sample and mud filtrate composition. The method may further comprise representing a mud composition as a Gaussian distribution, selecting a plurality of input data during a pumpout, determining calculated fluid properties of the reservoir fluid using an equation of state filtrate analysis, and further obtaining updated values of iterative parameters for use in a mole fraction distribution function. Abstract: Encoding downhole data in nucleic acid molecules provides increased speed accuracy in the communication of downhole data to the surface. Nucleic acid molecules can be coded with downhole data using a telemetry module that comprises a microfluidic system to perform an encoding process that encodes carrier nucleic acid molecules with substitute sequences or segments at specific locations that comprise retrieved or acquired downhole data. The encoded carrier nucleic acid molecules are injected into a downhole fluid that is circulated to the surface. Once the encoded carrier nucleic acid molecules reach the surface, the information can be decoded and analyzed. Each carrier nucleic acid molecule may be preconfigured with a header. The header may comprise information that allows N for ease in coding and recombining downhole data.

Abstract: A method and system for performing a pressure test. The method may include inserting a formation testing tool into a wellbore to a first location within the wellbore based at least in part on a figure of merit. The formation testing tool may include at least one probe, a pump disposed within the formation testing tool and connect to the at least one probe by at least one probe channel and at least one fluid passageway, and at least one stabilizer disposed on the formation testing tool. The method may further include activating the at least one stabilizer, wherein the at least one stabilizer is activated into a surface of the wellbore and performing the pressure test and determining at least one formation property from the pressure test.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a subsurface sensor to be positioned in a wellbore formed in a subsurface formation, wherein the subsurface sensor is to detect subsurface measurements. Abstract: A method including generating integrated computational element (ICE) models and determining a sensor response as the projection of a convolved spectrum associated with a sample library with a plurality of transmission profiles determined from the ICE models. The method includes determining a regression vector based on a multilinear regression that targets a sample characteristic with the sensor response and the sample library and determine a plurality of regression coefficients in a linear combination of ICE transmission vectors that results in the regression vector. The method further includes determining a difference between the regression vector and an optimal regression vector. The method may also include modifying the ICE models when the difference is greater than a tolerance, and fabricating ICEs based on the ICE models when the difference is within the tolerance. A device and a system for optical analysis including multiple ICEs fabricated as above, are also provided.

In one aspect, a method includes receiving optical sensor measurements generated by one or more downhole optical sensors in a wellbore; determining synthetic data for fluid characterization using an adaptive model and the optical sensor measurements; and applying the synthetic data to determine one or more physical properties of a fluid in the wellbore for which the optical sensor measurements are received.

Abstract: A method and system for estimating clean fluid composition and properties. Abstract: A method, including disposing a probe of a sensor system in a wellbore to interact with a formation fluid that includes a mud filtrate and a clean fluid that includes one of a formation water, or a formation hydrocarbon fluid including at least one hydrocarbon component. The method includes collecting multiple measurements of a formation fluid from a wellbore, the formation fluid comprising a mud filtrate and a clean fluid, is provided. The clean fluid includes at least one hydrocarbon component, and the method also include identifying a concentration of the mud filtrate and a concentration of the clean fluid in the formation fluid for one of the measurements, and determining at least one hydrocarbon composition and at least one physical property of the clean fluid based on a measurement fingerprint of the hydrocarbon components. A sensor system configured to perform a method as above is also provided.
