Abstract: A method and an apparatus determine a content of a foreign gas in a process liquid in which a measurement gas, especially CO2, has been dissolved. A concentration of the measurement gas is ascertained and a concentration of the gas mixture formed by the measurement gas and the foreign gas is ascertained, especially via a manometric measurement method. The measurement values are supplied to an evaluation unit. A concentration of the foreign gas is determined on the basis of the ascertained concentration of the measurement gas and the ascertained concentration of the gas mixture.

Abstract: A system and method for the automatic and continuous high-speed measurement of color and geometry characteristics of solid shaped particles. The system includes a shaped particle feeder that sorts and aligns singularized particles and feeds them onto a means for moving the singularized shaped particles to a color inspection station and a shape inspection station. The color inspection station provides for measuring the color of each singularized shaped particle and the shape inspection station provides for measuring the geometry characteristics of each singularized shaped particle. This information is analyzed by a master computer with the statistical information displayed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for identifying and averting exposed pellet-shaped article defects, deviations, and inclusions are disclosed. A vision system may be capable of identifying flaws/inclusions/defects/deviations affecting the exterior and/or interior of pellet-shaped articles via Ultra-Violet Light to instigate long-wave visible and Infra-red fluorescence. The UV Light and section of the visible spectrum not encompassing the instigated fluorescence may be removed with an optical filter so a camera can capture an image of discrete flaws/inclusions/defects/deviations. The vision system may send decision-signals to a mechanism to manipulate individual pellet-shaped articles. For example, a scam between halves of softgels may be rotated by an actuator having contact point(s) to hold a portion of the softgel stationary while a conveyer moves beneath causing rotation of the seam. This process may be performed prior to laser etching, printing, and/or drilling of pellet-shaped articles to reduce the number of pellet-shaped articles marked/printed/drilled on undesired surfaces.

Abstract: A method for removing foreign matter from an agricultural product stream of a manufacturing process. The method includes conveying a product stream past an inspection station; scanning a region of the agricultural product stream as it passes the inspection station using at least one light source of a single or different wavelengths; generating hyperspectral images from the scanned region; determining a spectral fingerprint for the agricultural product stream from the hyperspectral images; comparing the spectral fingerprint obtained in step (c) to a spectral fingerprint database containing a plurality of fingerprints using a computer processor to determine whether foreign matter is present and, if present, generating a signal in response thereto; and removing a portion of the conveyed product stream in response to the signal. A system for detecting foreign matter within an agricultural product stream is also provided.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include reconfigurable integrated circuits for characterizing particles of a sample in a flow stream. Reconfigurable integrated circuits according to certain embodiments are programmed to calculate parameters of a particle in a flow stream from detected light; compare the calculated parameters of the particle with parameters of one or more particle classifications; classify the particle based on the comparison between the parameters of the particle classifications and the calculated parameters of the particle; and adjust one or more parameters of the particle classifications based on the calculated parameters of the particle. Methods for characterizing particles in a flow stream with the subject integrated circuits are also described. Systems and integrated circuit devices programmed for practicing the subject methods, such as on a flow cytometer, are also provided.

Abstract: A light condensing device for inspecting the quality inside fruits and vegetables, resolving problems in which manually holding fruits for inspection is inefficient and cannot be used in large-scale fruit packaging production. The housing is a sealed and non-transparent housing. The halogen lamp is fixedly disposed at a left end of the housing, and extends into an inner portion of the housing. A pluggable diaphragm is disposed at the right side of the halogen lamp, and is used to guide a lighting direction of the halogen lamp. The diaphragm passes through the inner portion of the housing. The plano-convex lens support is fixedly disposed inside the housing at the right side of the diaphragm.

Abstract: A wireless plant sensor system transmits data in real time via a cloud. The system comprises a child sensor digitally and wirelessly connected to a parent sensor, the parent sensor relaying plant sensor data to the cloud, a processing unit, and a user interface that is digitally connected to the cloud. The child and parent sensors have microprocessors that provide control and management of sensor power with a power regulator circuit, which is electrically engaged to power harvesting components, that include a solar cell, a rf energy harvester, a rf antenna and rechargeable energy storage components. The input components to the sensor microprocessor including an accelerometer, temperature and humidity sensor, and an analog front end/LED driver that controls a plurality of LED light guides and emitters.
