    Abstract: A distributed fuel module includes a fuel pressure vessel with a gas port and a fuel port, a hydraulic circuit breaker connected to the fuel port, and a gaseous circuit breaker. The gaseous circuit breaker is connected to the gas port, is fluidly coupled to the hydraulic circuit breaker through the fuel pressure vessel, and is cooperatively associated with the gaseous circuit breaker to isolate the fuel pressure vessel from a compressed gas header and a fuel header according to pressure differential within the hydraulic circuit breaker and pressure differential within the gaseous circuit breaker. Power modules and methods of controlling fuel flow in fuel modules are also described.

    Abstract: A temperature adjusting valve includes, a first member made of a first material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion, a second member made of a second material having a second coefficient of thermal expansion that is in operable communication with the first member, and a flow passageway at least partially defined by a distance between a first surface of the first member and a second surface of the second member, the first coefficient of thermal expansion and the second coefficient of thermal expansion are selected such that a flow area of the flow passageway changes in response to changes in temperature of at least one of the first member and the second member the distance also is adjustable independently of temperature changes of the first member and the second member.

    Abstract: An unmanned underwater vehicle propulsion system includes a turbine engine having a mechanical output, an electrical generator including a mechanical connection to the mechanical output, and an electrical input/output. At least one power bus connects the electrical input/output to one of a motor drive and a motor. A rechargeable energy storage system is connected to the at least one power bus and is configured to provide power to the power bus in at least a first mode and receive power from the power bus in a second mode. A controller is configured to control at least one of the electrical generator, the motor drive, the motor, and the rechargeable energy source.

    Abstract: A rotor body for a high-speed generator includes a rotor body with interior and exterior surfaces, a coolant inlet and outlet, and a rotor cooling path for actively cooling the rotor body. The coolant inlet and outlet extend between the interior and exterior surfaces. An interior segment of the rotor cooling path fluidly couples the coolant inlet and coolant outlet and is bounded by the rotor body interior surface. An exterior segment of the cooling path is bounded by the rotor body exterior surface and fluidly couples the coolant outlet an environment external to the rotor body.
