摘要: A thermal printer with a mechanism for preventing recording sheet from meandering. In order to perform the mechanism, the thermal printer is provided with a thermal line head, a platen roller and a holding shaft which is perpendicular to the surface of a recording sheet and rotatable about the axis thereof, the holding shaft being engaged with the thermal line head in such a manner that the thermal line head is horizontally swingable about the axis of the holding shaft with the positional relation between the recording sheet and the thermal line head unchanged, and subjected to frictional force to return the thermal line head to its standard position, so that printing operation is correctly carried out all times and the recording sheet is returned to its standard position, that is, the meandering of the recording sheet is prevented. This mechanism also can be performed by providing the thermal printer with a brake shoe engaged with the holding shaft as described above.

摘要: A data processing apparatus includes a plurality of register blocks, each having a plurality of registers, an external memory either to save data in the register blocks or to restore data in the register blocks, and a data processing unit to execute a program using at least one of these register blocks. This data processing unit generates a first or a second signal when a subroutine call or a return occurs in the program being executed. The data processing apparatus further includes a memory interface to execute the data transfer between the register block set in the "save" or "restore" state and the external memory when the first or second signal is generated, and a register control for setting at least one of those register blocks in a state that can be used by the program executing means, and for setting a different register block into the "save" or "restore" state in response to the first or second signal.

A method for mass spectrometry of a sugar chain comprising the steps of: preparing a sample containing a sugar chain; labeling the sugar chain with a labeling compound, to obtain a labeled sugar chain; and subjecting the labeled sugar chain to measurement of negative ions by using a MALDI mass spectrometer, thereby conducting analysis of the sugar chain. A method for screening disease marker comprising the steps of: (1) labeling the biomolecule X derived from a subject affected by a particular disease; subjecting the labeled biomolecule X′ to measurement of negative ions by a MALDI mass spectrometer, (2) separately, labeling the biomolecule Y derived from a subject unaffected by the particular disease; subjecting the labeled biomolecule Y′ to measurement of negative ions by a MALDI mass spectrometer; and (3) comparing mass spectrum of the labeled biomolecule X′ obtained in (1) with mass spectrum of the labeled biomolecule Y′ obtained in (2) to find mass spectrum peaks which are mutually different, thereby ascertaining presence of structure involved in expression of the particular disease.
