Abstract:
A method for secure access and communication of information in a distributed media network is disclosed and includes detecting, at a first geographic location, when a media peripheral is communicatively coupled to at least one computing device at the first geographic location within the distributed media network. The media peripheral may be validated for use at the first geographic location using at least one identifier. The at least one identifier may be associated with the media peripheral. The at least one identifier may be used to facilitate communication by and/or to the media peripheral over the distributed media network. The at least one identifier associated with the media peripheral and at least one identifier of a user may be requested utilizing the media peripheral. The at least one identifier associated with the media peripheral is a serial number of the media peripheral.
Abstract:
A method for communication is disclosed and may include storing media and meta-data associated with the stored media. The storing may occur at a first location associated with a first communication device. A channel guide including representations of the stored media may be presented, based on the meta-data associated with the stored media, on a television in a second location. The presenting may occur when the first communication device is communicatively coupled to a second communication device at the second location. In response to receiving a selection via the presented channel guide, at least one media file corresponding to the received selection may be displayed based on the meta-data associated with stored media, on the television and/or a media player in the second location. The first communication device may be a media processing unit.
Abstract:
A request from a user device is received for a service by a network management server via a communication network. The network management server determines multiple routes for delivering content associated with the requested service based on a provisioning profile for the user device. Content associated with the requested service is then delivered via the determined multiple routes. The provisioning profile is updated and includes preferred service types, desired QoS for one or more services, client account information, and/or client credit verification information. The network management server manages the delivery of the content associated with the requested service via the determined multiple routes. The content includes packets that are the same, which are communicated or delivered simultaneously via the determined multiple routes. The network management server allocates one or more of the determined multiple routes for delivering the content based on priorities associated with the routes.
Abstract:
Aspects of a method and system for map data management using road ghosting characteristics are provided. A mobile device transmits a map request to a mapping service server for a map view. Upon the receipt of the map request from the mobile device, the mapping service server creates a ghost map based on road ghost characteristic information gathered from mobile devices associated with the mapping service server. The road ghost characteristic information is overlaid on geographical locations to identify ghost pathways and road supplemental information. The characteristics associated with the identified ghost pathways and road supplemental information is merged into metadata. The ghost map is generated by correlating the metadata with geographic locations of interests of said mobile device. The ghost map is delivered to the mobile and presented via the user interface to users of the mobile device, accordingly.
Abstract:
A client device transmits a GNSS address to gain navigation information such as map data from a global positioning group support server. The global positioning group support server may provide navigation information of global positioning groups in the vicinity of the client device based on the received GNSS address. The GNSS address of the client device may be an inherent GNSS address or a GNSS address of a neighboring client device. Client devices are registered and divided into global positioning groups at a global positioning group support server based on corresponding GNSS addresses. A particular client device may be added or removed to or from a given global positioning group. Uni- and bi-directional association tracking within a determined time window is enabled based on corresponding GNSS addresses. Phantom GNSS moving is enabled via the association tracking.
Abstract:
A method for performing an analysis of an oilfield network. The oilfield network includes multiple wellsites. The method includes collecting oilfield data from the oilfield network, modeling a first wellsite using the oilfield data to create a first production model of the first wellsite, and modeling a second wellsite using the oilfield data to create a second production model of the second wellsite. The method further includes modeling a sub-network of the oilfield network to create a third production model of the sub-network. The modeling of the sub-network includes identifying a junction of a branch associated with the first wellsite and a branch associated with the second wellsite. A fourth production model is created for the junction by combining the first production model with the second production model. The production model of the sub-network is created using the fourth production model of the junction. The method further includes solving the oilfield network based on the third production model to create a production result, and storing the production result.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the invention may be found in a method and apparatus for aiding language pronunciation. In an aspect of the invention, based on at least one triggering event, an audio enabled toy such as a babble bear may be adapted to play back phonemes and/or lingos comprising sounds, including words, phrases and sentences. The phonemes and/or lingos may cover a wide range of phonemes from a variety of languages, thereby exercising the hearing ability of infants and toddlers and enhancing their ability to learn new languages. Phoneme sequences and lingo sequences, or a combination thereof, may be retrieved from one or more removable storages within the toy and selectively played back within the audio enabled toy. Libraries of phonemes and lingo can be downloaded from servers, personal computers and remote storage.
Abstract:
Fluid sensor methods and systems adapted for monitoring and/or controlling distillation operations in fluidic systems, such as batch distillation operations or continuous distillation operations, are disclosed. Preferred embodiments are directed to process monitoring and/or process control for unit operations involving endpoint determination of a distillation, for example, as applied to a liquid-component-switching operation (e.g., a solvent switching operation), a liquid-liquid separation operation, a solute concentration operation, a dispersed-phase concentration operation, among others.
Abstract:
Certain embodiments of the invention may provide a method and system for secure access to a media peripheral in a home via a node in a communication network and may comprise attempting to identify previously acquired security data associated with the media peripheral. If the security data is not found, information associated with the home may be exchanged and security data associated with the media peripheral may be acquired and utilized to facilitate secure communication between the media peripheral and the communication network. The security data may also be authenticated and/or transferred to, for example, a media exchange server or other server coupled to the communication network. If previously acquired security data associated with the media peripheral is found, an identifier associated with the home may be acquired, authenticated, registered and/or distributed throughout the communication network.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the invention may be found in a sound and heartbeat playback system that selectively generates and/or plays back sounds and/or heartbeats that mimic a natural mother's sounds and heartbeats. In this regard, the generation of heartbeat or other soothing and calming sounds may be incorporated into toys. The sound and heartbeat playback system may therefore be employed in a surrogate mother toy, for example, a cuddly bear with which infants may usually cuddle, play and/or sleep. Accordingly, the sound emitted by the sound and heartbeat playback system may aid in calming infants when they are agitated and/or tired.
