Abstract: Systems and methods are described for grapheme-phoneme correspondence learning. In an example, a display of a device is caused to output a grapheme graphical user interface (GUI) that includes a grapheme. Audio data representative of a sound made by the human user is received based on the grapheme shown on the display. A grapheme-phoneme model can determine whether the sound made by the human corresponds to a phoneme for the displayed grapheme based on the audio data. The grapheme-phoneme model is trained based on augmented spectrogram data. A speaker is caused to output a sound representative of the phoneme for the grapheme to provide the human with a correct pronunciation of the grapheme in response to the grapheme-phoneme model determining that the sound made by the human does not correspond to the phoneme for the grapheme.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to interactive training, and in particular, to methods and systems for computerized interactive skill training. An example embodiment provides a method and system for providing skill training using a computerized system. The computerized system receives a selection of a first training subject. Several related training components can be invoked, such as reading, watching, performing, and/or reviewing components. In addition, a scored challenge session is provided, wherein a training challenge is provided to a user via a terminal, optionally in video form.

Abstract: A robotic head for modeling the articulation of speech sounds, including a three-dimensional head section, a moveable tongue, upper and lower lips, and jaw, and at least one actuator for moving them. A memory stores a plurality of motion command sets, each being a predetermined set of commands for moving one or more of the tongue, lips, and jaw in a manner that corresponds to generation of a specific speech sound. In response to receipt of a speech sound input command that identifies a requested speech sound, a processor transmits the commands of the motion command set corresponding to the requested speech sound to the at least one actuator to move the tongue, lips, and jaw in a manner that corresponds to generation of the requested speech sound. The three-dimensional head is made of transparent material such that the tongue is viewable by a patient when moved.

Abstract: An apparatus for assisting an education includes a housing, at least two receptacles, at least two electrical circuits, and a controller. The housing includes a surface and an interior. The at least two receptacles are disposed on the surface of the housing. And, each receptacle is configured to identify an idea, each idea being related to the other idea identified by the other receptacle. Each of the at least two electrical circuits includes a set of leads disposed in a respective one of the at least two receptacles. Each of the set of leads is operable to dose (complete) the respective circuit when electrically conductive modeling compound is inserted into the receptacle and contacts both leads. The controller is disposed in the housing's interior and coupled with the at least two electrical circuits. The controller also performs a function in response to the closure of one or more of the electrical circuits.

The method includes: measuring vocal or gestural characteristics of the speaker of the presentation in progress and/or of characteristics of content of the presentation in progress; measuring a parameter of duration or of occurrence of the measured characteristics; consulting a database having a correspondence between vocal or gestural speaker characteristics and/or presentation content characteristics, parameters of duration or of occurrence which relate to these characteristics and information relating to the evolution of the attention level for these characteristics and these parameters and recovering the information relating to the evolution of the attention level corresponding to the measurements performed; and presenting to the speaker, a prediction of attention level on the basis of the information recovered relating to the evolution of the attention level. Also provided are a prediction device, learning phase and a learning device.
