Abstract:
A method for controlling operation of a refrigerator having two evaporators is provided which allows food to be effectively stored in refrigerating and freezing chambers of the refrigerator. A Refrigerating-Freezing (RF) cycle and/or a Freezing (F) cycle of the refrigerator and compressor operation are controlled based on temperatures of various chambers within the refrigerator. This may be further enhanced by also controlling operation of the evaporators and their respective evaporator fans to further optimize cooling output and efficiency. In this manner, the various refrigerating and freezing chambers of the refrigerator can be maintained at an appropriate temperature, power consumption is minimized, and load on the compressor can be adequately managed so as to provide for effective food storage.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a nano-structured metal oxide electrode, and in particular, to a method for manufacturing a metal oxide electrode having a few tens or hundreds of nanometers in diameter that is well adapted to an electrode of a supercapacitor using an alumina or polymer membrane having nano-sized pores as a template. Preferred methods for manufacturing a nano-structured metal oxide electrode comprises steps of preparing an alumina or polymer template having a plurality of nano-sized pores; sputtering a metal acting as a current collector with a few tens of μm of thickness in one surface of the alumina template; charging the template, after the sputtering step, by submerging it into a precipitation solution having a metal salt dissolved therein, and applying a static current or electrode electric potential thereby electrochemically precipitating a metal oxide in the nano-sized pores of the template; a step in which the composite of the alumina or polymer template and the metal oxide are contacted with a sodium hydroxide solution or other base to remove the alumina or polymer template; and an optional drying step to provide the nano-structured metal oxide electrode.

In a system for measuring pressure and/or temperature of a tire, reflectivity of reflectors is significantly enhanced and manufacture is significantly easier, since the system is provided with a board, an antenna provided to the board in order to send/receive a micro-wave to/from an external device, an IDT (inter-digital transducer) provided to the board and transducing the micro-wave into SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave), a waveguide part forming at least one looped channel of a polygonal shape on the board, the polygonal shape comprising a comer located at the IDT, and a plurality of reflectors provided to the at least one looped channel at comers different from the comer located at the IDT.

The invention includes apparatus and method for detecting defects in various barrier materials including surgical gloves and food packaging. Voltage is applied across electrodes and a barrier material and the voltage measured and compared with voltage control measurements for the same barrier material without a defect. Sensitivity of measurements is increased by adjusting partial pressure across the barrier material which is subjected to the passage of an ionized gas detected by suitable instrumentation.

This invention relates to devices for navigating passageways in a body, and in particular, to a steerable catheter that can be used to navigate the tortuous anatomy of a body's vasculature. In one embodiment of the invention the deflectable catheter comprises an inner catheter body having a first strut spine member and a cantilevered second strut tang member. An outer catheter body is cooperatively associated with the second strut tang member and an actuator is cooperatively associated with the first strut spine member. The actuator is slideably engaged within the outer catheter body.

A method for providing a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) service to a terminal communicable with different communication networks. The DMB service method includes receiving a broadcasting program over a DMB network; receiving the broadcasting program over a Wireless Broadband (WiBro) network upon failure to receive the broadcasting program signal from the DMB network; and upon receipt of the broadcasting program signal back from the DMB network, interrupting the broadcasting program received from the WiBro network and receiving the broadcasting program over the DMB network.

Provided is a broadcasting system and method for providing a broadcasting service in a weak electric field area. The broadcasting system includes a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) terminal for if a broadcasting replay request is input during a DMB service, transmitting a replay request message to a streaming server, and upon receipt of broadcasting data responding to the replay request message is received, displaying the received broadcasting data; and the streaming server for if the replay request message is received, providing broadcasting data responding to the replay request message to the DMB terminal.

A method for inserting a PDU LI in an RLC is disclosed. According to the preferred embodiment, if a current PDU size corresponds to the total size of components of the PDU and the current PDU has information indicating that the current PDU size corresponds to the total size of components of the PDU, a component of the next PDU does not include information indicating that the current PDU size corresponds to the total size of components of the PDU. Therefore, the next PDU is free from unnecessary insertion of the LI value so that waste of network resources can be prevented and overhead required for processing unnecessary LI values also can be reduced.

A method of compensating for channel interference of a display apparatus and a device for controlling driving of a data signal are provided. The method of compensating for the channel interference of the display apparatus includes: receiving pixel data of a scan line selected from an external screen memory; summing up the received pixel data and detecting a compensation time for compensating for channel interference which occurs in the selected scan line by using the sum of the pixel data; and adjusting at least one of a discharge time and a peak boost time of a driving current that is output to each data line according to the detected compensation time. Accordingly, it is possible to solve problems such as an increase of the circuit size caused by the existing compensation for the channel interference by controlling the discharge period or peak boost period with respect to each scan line and compensating for the channel interference phenomenon.
