Abstract: In a communication system that includes an access point, a repeater #1, and a repeater #2 and wirelessly communicates with a terminal, the access point wirelessly communicates with the repeater #1 on at least a first channel included in a first frequency band and wirelessly communicates with the repeater #2 on at least a second channel included in a second frequency band different than the first frequency band, the repeater #1 wirelessly communicates with the terminal on at least a third channel included in the second frequency band, and the repeater #2 wirelessly communicates with the terminal on at least a fourth channel included in the first frequency band.

Abstract: A decoding method includes inputting coded data, and decoding the coded data to obtain decoded data. The coded data are generated by using an encoding process at an encoding apparatus, and the encoding process includes: (i) repeatedly-selecting and collecting first packets included in the decoded data to generate at least one second packet; (ii) dividing at least one third packet included in the decoded data into fourth packets; and (iii) allocating fifth packets included in the decoded data to respective sixth packets without collecting the first packets or dividing the at least one third packet, and performing an error correcting encoding on the at least one second packet, the fourth packets, and the sixth packets in accordance with a coding rate selected from a plurality of coding rates to generate parity data.

Abstract: In a multi-antenna communication system using LDPC codes, a simple method is used to effectively improve the received quality by performing a retransmittal of less data without restricting applicable LDPC codes. In a case of a non-retransmittal, a multi-antenna transmitting apparatus (100) transmits, from two antennas (114A,114B), LDPC encoded data formed by LDPC encoding blocks (102A,102B). In a case of a retransmittal, the multi-antenna transmitting apparatus (100) uses a transmission method, in which the diversity gain is higher than in the previous transmission, to transmit only a part of the LDPC encoded data as previously transmitted. For example, the only the part of the LDPC encoded data to be re-transmitted is transmitted from the single antenna (114A).

Abstract: Provided are M signal processors that respectively generate modulated signals for M reception apparatuses (where M is an integer equal to 2 or greater), a multiplexing signal processor, and N antenna sections (where N is an integer equal to 1 or greater). When transmitting multiple streams, each of the M signal processors generates two mapped signals, generates first and second precoded signals by precoding the two mapped signals, periodically changes the phase of signal points in the IQ plane with respect to the second precoded signal, outputs the phase-changed signal, and outputs the first precoded signal and the phase-changed second precoded signal as two modulated signals. When transmitting a single stream, each of the M signal processor outputs a single modulated signal. The multiplexing signal processor multiplexes the modulated signals output from the M signal processors, and generates N multiplexed signals. The N antenna sections respectively transmit the N multiplexed signals.

Abstract: A communication apparatus includes a receiver and a decoder. The receiver includes a plurality of antenna elements and, in operation, receives from a base station apparatus a modulated signal mapped to one of a plurality of subframes defined in a frame corresponding to a communicable range to which the communication apparatus belongs. The plurality of subframes are defined by time-division, frequency-division, or time-and-frequency division of the frame. A maximum number of modulated signals that can be simultaneously transmitted in a subframe from the base station apparatus varies depending on the communicable range. The decoder, in operation, decodes the received modulated signal.

Abstract: A transmission method includes mapping processing, phase change processing, and transmission processing. In the mapping processing, a plurality of first modulation signals and a plurality of second modulation signals are generated using a first mapping scheme, and a plurality of third modulation signals and a plurality of fourth modulation signals are generated using a second mapping scheme. In the phase change processing, a phase change is performed on the plurality of second modulation signals and the plurality of fourth modulation signals using all N kinds of phases. In the transmission processing, the first modulation signals and the second modulation signals are respectively transmitted at a same frequency and a same time from different antennas, and the third modulation signals and the fourth modulation signals are respectively transmitted at a same frequency and a same time from the different antennas.

A mapper modulates a first bit string in which the number of bits is the predetermined integral multiple of (X+Y) in the code word using a first scheme, the first scheme being a set of a modulation scheme in which an X-bit bit string is mapped to generate a first complex signal and a modulation scheme in which a Y-bit bit string is mapped to generate a second complex signal, and modulates a second bit string in which the first bit string is removed from the code word using a second scheme different from the first scheme.
