Abstract:
A wrapper for a floral grouping formed from a sheet of material having a closure bonding material on a portion thereof. The sheet of material is wrapped about the floral grouping with the closure bonding material securing the sheet of material in a wrapped position about the floral grouping to form the wrapper. A top flap is folded over an open upper end of the wrapper and connected to the wrapper to prevent the floral grouping from shifting in the wrapper and extending out from the open upper end of the wrapper. In one form, a bottom flap is connected to the wrapper and extends over an open lower end of the wrapper to prevent the floral grouping from shifting in the wrapper and extending out from the open lower end of the wrapper.
Abstract:
Paper stock is unwound, printed, folded, laminated and cut to form inserts. The laminated inserts are applied to an overwrap at an appropriately spaced interval. The resultant overwrap can then be wrapped around cigarette packs to provide each pack with an insert without slowing down production.
Abstract:
A flower pot or flower pot cover having a base with an upper end and a lower end, an object opening extending through the upper end of the base. A skirt is connected to the upper end of the base and extends outwardly from the upper end of the base terminating with an outer peripheral surface. The skirt has a plurality of overlapping folds in the skirt extending from the upper end of the base outwardly toward the outer peripheral surface of the skirt. The skirt is divided into a plurality of segments, each segment extending from the upper end of the base radially outwardly to the outer peripheral surface of the skirt. The overlapping folds in some of the segments are connected forming connected segments and the overlapping folds in the remaining segments are unconnected forming unconnected segments.

Abstract:
An article forming system for forming at least one sheet of material into an article, such as a decorative flower pot cover for example, and a novel article formed utilizing such a system. The article forming system includes a male die, a female die and a platform having a support surface and an opening extending through the support surface. The female die is disposed generally within the opening in the platform with the upper end of the female die being disposed near the support surface. The article forming system includes means for slidingly holding portions of the sheet of material generally against portions of the support surface while permitting such held portions to slide on the support surface during the forming of the article for cooperating in forming a decorative border on the decorative flower pot cover type of article which flares generally away from the flower pot object when the decorative flower pot cover article is applied to the flower pot. The article formed in accordance with the present invention includes overlapping folds formed by overlapping portions of the sheet of material to bring portions of the sheet of material into bondable contact, the overlapping folds providing the mechanical strength necessary for the formed sheet of material to hold a predetermined shape thereby permitting the utilization of thinner sheets of material to form articles.

Abstract:
Described is a packaging for liquid, made of cardboard, which is made impermeable to liquid by means of a plastic coating over its surface. It has side-walls, base and top wall (5), connected to one another by folded and/or sealed seams. A pouring aperture is located in top wall (5) close to the edge line, and can be torn off and has a separate plastic strip (8) covering the pouring aperture and being applied round the edge of the pouring aperture, and is sealed on at least from the inside. So that the edge of the pouring aperture remains covered with a protective layer after opening and so that the closure and the protective layer can be produced with simple means, according to the invention the plastic strip (8) covers the pouring aperture tightly and is fixed via two tacked strips (7, 31) to an outer cover strip, in which a hole (15) is located above the pouring aperture, the two tacked strips being smaller than the surface area of cover strip (6), the first tacked strip (7) being applied at a distance from hole (15) and outside the pouring aperture, the second tacked strip (31) being applied outside hole (15) of cover strip (6) and within the pouring aperture (16), the outer cover strip (6) being fixed to the top wall (5) of the packaging via a third tacked strip (9) lying outside the plastic strip (8).
Abstract:
A flattened tube of continuous film is opened up by being fed over a mandrel which is floatingly disposed within the tube. As the tube is passing over the mandrel, which serves as a backing, a layer of reinforcing tapes is helically wound thereabout and fixed thereto, whereafter the tube is flattened again. Each side of the tube is then successively provided with a layer of parallel further reinforcing tapes which are anchored by a plastics covering layer that is extruded thereon and pressed thereto.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for applying folded lengths of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape to articles with one-half of the adhesive surface of the tape length secured to an article and a liner secured to the other half of the adhesive surface. The adhesive tape is folded to leave the adhesive surface exposed. A liner which may be wider than the folded tape is then secured to the adhesive on one-half of the folded tape. The tape and liner composite is cut and a movable vacuum pad applies the cut length to the article with the exposed adhesive applied to the article. The wide liner is easily removed when the tape tab is to be used.
Abstract:
A blank of sheet material for forming a container includes a front panel, a top panel, a rear panel, and a bottom panel coupled together in series by a plurality of generally parallel fold lines. The blank also includes a pair of front side panels extending from opposing side edges of the front panel, a pair of top side panels coupled to opposing side edges of the top panel, and a pair of bottom side panels coupled to opposing side edges of the bottom panel. A side tab extends from each bottom side panel along a tab perforation line. Each side tab is configured to couple to one of the front side panels in a face-to-face relationship. A face of each of the top panel, the bottom panel, the pair of top side panels, and the pair of bottom side panels is devoid of perforation lines extending therethrough.
