Abstract:
A radiation transmitting or sensing element is placed in a generally elongated holder of resilient material so that, if it is distorted by an accidental impact or otherwise, it will automatically re-orient itself when the intruding force is released. The invention is especially useful in safety accessories for automatic overhead doors, garages, and the like.
Abstract:
A vehicle door, wherein a drive unit for raising and lowering a glass plate is constructed so that a pluraity of pulleys across which wires are laid are provided at upper and lower sides of a base panel. The glass plate is moved up and down by driving the wires, the glass plate is prevented from moving in a vehicle inward direction when the door is closed. Wire fixing portions are prevented from being damaged by great upward and downward stroke movements of the glass plate. Furthermore, the wires are prevented from slackening when the wires are driven and stopped by a supporting rod along an upward and downward movement locus of the glass plate, and by a contact member which has no contact with the supporting rod. Trumpet-shaped guide portions are located at hole edges of the wire fixing portions, and the circumferential surfaces of a tensioner are V-shaped for eliminating slack in the wires.
Abstract:
A driving system for a garage door includes a track having an end fixed on an inside of a wall and has an open side that faces upward. A driving assembly is movably received in the track and driven by a motor. The driving assembly includes a connection member to which two ends of a power transferring member are connected. A U-shaped member is movably engaged with the track from an underside of the track and two sides of the U-shaped member are connected to the driving assembly. A link is pivotably connected between the U-shaped member and the garage door. The power transferring member reeves a gear which is rotatably connected to the track and the motor has a driving shaft which is conveniently extended through an opening of the track and engaged with an engaging hole of the gear.
Abstract:
A system and method for sensing capacitance at the edge of a movable barrier and for detecting an obstruction includes positioning a conductive member within or about a holder. A sensed capacitance between the conductive member and ground. A controller is coupled to the sensor. The controller determines whether an obstruction exists within a path of the barrier by analyzing the sensed capacitance. The conductive member and holder move away from a physical reference as the physical reference is approached such that the sensed capacitance between the conductive member and the physical reference remains below a predetermined threshold.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a new sliding assembly for a sliding closure. The present invention is constructed of two metal profiles mounted on each side wall of sliding closure and guiding bars for sliding on said rail. The profiles design includes a rail which length, is adjusted to the sliding closure height. The lower sliding bar is attached to a roller, which slides along the lower track of the closure. The second sliding bar is attached to the guiding bar for sliding along the upper track of the closure. An elastic stretching means connects between the lower sliding bar and the profile.
Abstract:
A drive system is provided for a moveable barrier, such as a garage door, that limits unauthorized shifting thereof. The drive system includes a flexible actuator for raising and lowering the door. The flexible actuator is tensioned with a biasing mechanism to minimize actuator throw, and a stop assembly of the biasing mechanism limits unauthorized travel of the garage door from the closed position by a predetermined amount that is sufficiently small so as to keep intruders out of the garage. The flexible actuator may for example, be a cable, a belt or a chain.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a vehicle door, wherein a drive unit for raising and lowering a glass plate is constructed so that a plurality of pulleys across which wires are laid are provided at upper and lower sides of a base panel, the glass plate is moved up and down by driving the wires, the glass plate is prevented from moving in a vehicle inward direction when the door is closed, wire fixing portions are prevented from being damaged by great upward and downward stroke movements of the glass plate, and furthermore, the wires are prevented from slackening when the wires are driven and stopped. This is realized by providing a supporting rod along an upward and downward movement locus of the glass plate and a contact member which has no contact with the supporting rod, by forming trumpet-shaped guide portions at hole edges of the wire fixing portions, and by V-shaping the circumferential surfaces of a tensioner for eliminating slack of the wires.

Abstract:
A door operator having a door hanger comprising a pair of double trolley assemblies disposed for linear movement within a hanger rail, wherein each trolley assembly further comprises two rollers mounted substantially opposite one another and engaging roller cavities within said hanger rail. Said door hanger is integrated with the drive system or is mounted independently of the drive system for replacement of the door hanger of the prior art or in new application requiring such independency between the door hanger and drive system.
