    摘要: A refrigeration apparatus that employs a refrigerant compressor has an expansion device coupled between an evaporator and a condenser. A first heat exchanger has (a) a main passage coupled between the evaporator and the inlet of the compressor, and (b) a complementary passage. This first heat exchanger may be a serpentine pipe inside a tank. A second heat exchanger has (a) a principal passage coupled between the condenser and the outlet of the compressor, and (b) an auxiliary passage. This second heat exchanger may be an inner and outer pair of coaxial pipes. The complementary passage of the first heat exchanger is coupled between a fluid pump and the auxiliary passage of the second heat exchanger. The auxiliary passage of the second heat exchanger is coupled between the fluid pump and the complementary passage of the first heat exchanger. A controller can operate the fluid pump based on measured parameters such as outside ambient temperature or compressor outlet pressure.

The method includes calculating a temperature differential by measuring a first temperature of a refrigerant inside of a refrigerant container and measuring a second temperature either at the air conditioning system or the ambient temperature. The method further includes using the temperature differential to calculate a compensation amount of refrigerant to add to a previously determined recommended amount of refrigerant based on the type of air conditioning system being charged.

    摘要: An optimizer for modulating the speed of an indoor fan and first and second stage compressors of a two staged refrigeration system with a plurality of relays and an already existing power source. The optimizer is comprised of a speed modulation device, a supply air temperature sensor, and a controller. The speed modulation device is located in proximity to the existing power source and configured to collect current and power related information from the refrigeration system and power source to send to the controller. The supply air temperature sensor is linked to the indoor fan of the two staged refrigeration system and operable to obtain supply air temperature values. The controller is linked in communication with the speed modulation device and supply air temperature sensor and is operable to generate a system mode based on the power, current, and supply air temperature information. Speed commands are then sent to the speed modulation device to modulate the speed.

    摘要: Systems and methods for controlling a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) in an optical transceiver. A TEC system includes a processor that interacts with a power supply and a TEC controller to prevent inrush current. The power supply is switched by the processor and turned on only at a particular time. The power supply has a relatively large time constant such that it ramps slowly to its full value. In the meantime, the processor and TEC controller cause the temperature to ramp to a target value by repeatedly incrementing or decrementing a target value over time and by controlling when the maximum available voltage can be applied to the TEC.

    摘要: Embodiments include systems and methods for selectively cooling heat-generating electronic components in an enclosure. According to one embodiment, an enclosure houses a plurality of heat-generating electronic components. Air enters the enclosure at the front and is exhausted at the rear. After passing through one or more upstream components, air diverges into at least first and second airstreams within the enclosure. The first airstream is re-cooled by a cooling system having a thermoelectric cooling module. The thermoelectric cooling module is configured such that a first side is cooled and a second side is heated in response to an applied voltage. A voltage regulator may govern the voltage in response to one or more temperatures sensed within the rack system.
