Abstract:
A communication apparatus which is capable of ascertaining whether or not it is possible to transmit image data to a transmission destination irrespective of functions it has, and notifying a user of the ascertainment result, thus enhancing convenience. A storage unit stores an address book including a plurality of addresses indicative of transmission destinations of data. A first receiving unit receives a first message from an external device. A determination unit determines whether an address of the external device that has transmitted the received first message is included in the address book. A display unit displays the address of the external device in a first display form which is different from a display form of other addresses in a case where the determination unit determines that the address of the external device is included in the address book and when the address book is displayed.
Abstract:
A distribution system includes an image processing apparatus to connect to a distribution apparatus over a network. The image processing apparatus includes first and second reception units, an analysis unit, a reflection unit, and first and second notification units. The analysis unit analyzes a received setting value used to connect to the distribution apparatus. The second reception unit receives an inquiry to acquire an import processing status using the import data. The reflection unit performs the import processing. The notification units notify the distribution apparatus about the analyzed setting value and the status of the import processing. The distribution apparatus includes an inquiry unit, first and second reception units, and a control unit. The control unit controls, in response to the distribution apparatus not being able to connect to the image processing apparatus, the inquiry unit to issue the inquiry using the setting value received by the first reception unit.
Abstract:
An MFP receives destination information indicating a folder in a file server from a user and can register the destination information in an address book, and the MFP determines whether a connection with a file server using the destination information can be established after destination information is received but before the destination information is registered in the address book, and notifies a user of a determination result.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus may communicate with a communication-target device, which is a device with which the information processing apparatus is to communicate, via a first type interface section. The information processing apparatus may store, in a first storage area, target identification information for identifying the communication-target device as default identification information, in a case where a first network to which the communication-target device belongs is identical to a second network to which the information processing apparatus belongs via the second type interface section. The target identification information may be stored in association with at least one of a plurality of attributes. The information processing apparatus may cause the target identification information not to be stored in the first storage area as the default identification information in a case where the first network is not identical to the second network.
Abstract:
Provided is a facsimile apparatus that prevents a transmission forgetfulness of a regular transmission. Every time a FAX is transmitted, a transmission history is accumulated in a transmission history table. A regular transmission detecting part refers to the transmission history table for every time zone corresponding to the check interval memorized in a setting table. Thereby, the regular transmission detecting part detects whether or not the regular transmission was carried out in the past. If the regular transmission is carried out, the transmission judging part refers to the transmission history table. The transmission judging part judges whether or not the regular transmission was carried out in the time zone for today. If judged the transmission being not carried out, an informing part reports that the regular transmission is not carried out to the mail address corresponding to the report destination memorized in the setting table.
Abstract:
A display device for processing an information code included in an image is provided. The display device includes an image receiver configured to receive an image signal including an information code, a communicator configured to communicate data with an external device, a display configured to display an image, and a controller configured to capture a still image from the image signal processed to be displayed on the display, to detect the information code from the captured still image, to discover the external device to which information about the recognized information code will be transmitted, and to control the communicator to transmit the information about the information code to the discovered external device.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus has an auto-complete function using an LDAP protocol. The apparatus inputs character information, and verifies a certificate of an LDAP server. The apparatus obtains, by the LDAP protocol, address information including the character information input by the input unit after verifying the certificate of the LDAP server.
Abstract:
A portable terminal apparatus includes: a two-dimensional code obtaining portion that obtains a two-dimensional code indicating address information; an address information judgment portion that analyzes the two-dimensional code and judges whether or not the two-dimensional code includes an IP address; an access portion that accesses an image processing apparatus residing at the IP address upon the two-dimensional code being judged as including the IP address; an MIB information obtaining portion that obtains MIB information from the image processing apparatus; and a registration portion that judges on the basis of the MIB information whether or not the image processing apparatus can be operated from the portable terminal apparatus by an application being activated, the application being installed on the portable terminal apparatus, and registers information for use of the image processing apparatus upon the image processing apparatus being judged as being able to be operated from the portable terminal apparatus.
Abstract:
A processing apparatus includes a provision unit that is connected to a communication unit used to communicate with plural actual apparatuses and a manipulation unit which is used to manipulate the actual apparatuses, that forms virtual image processing functions which control operations of the actual apparatuses based on manipulation of the manipulation unit, and that provides services using the virtual image processing functions, and a control unit that, when an operation execution instruction of the actual apparatuses is given using the manipulation unit, limits the processes which exceed an amount of licenses indicating a previously contracted number of actual apparatuses, throughputs of the previously contracted number of actual apparatuses, or a previously contracted number of virtual image processing functions, and that controls the provision unit such that the services are provided based on the operation execution instruction.
Abstract:
An invisible ink management method and system. The method includes receiving by a computer processor data associated with an image to be duplicated and a duplication command enabling reproduction of the image. The computer processor receives a command for enabling a duplication prevention functionality and generates a first copy of the image. The computer processor enables an invisible ink spray nozzle. In response, the invisible ink spray nozzle sprays a plurality of invisible images on the first copy. The plurality of invisible images are invisible under first lighting conditions and are visible under second lighting conditions.
